graywo1fg
What do i need to do I am getting verry upset that my Online play is not even the slightest bit fun! i get into a server and my ping is ABSOLUTLY great in the 70's to 80s (great for me) but after about 10 min of game play (hardly enough to see any action) my game does the most greatest of thigs! SLIDE SHOW TIME!!!!!! my FPS is in the 30's and 40's durring the time and all the time. And for some reason after 10 min of game play its like the evil server god dials down my bandwith or something i have tried absolutly everything in my power. i have a 7800GT and a 4200+ AMD duel core and 2 GIGS of DDR RAM!!!!!!!!! why is this happening to me. its like my game is just playing a slide show..... It goes then basicly pauses for 2 seconds and then playes for 1 and then pauses for 2 and its a never ending cycle!! this is absolutly impossible to play and is the up most frustraiting thing to happen to me reguarding lock on. Also everybody on my screen WARPS theres no stoping it.. i try and i mention TRY to fire a missile at someone but they WARP ABSOLUTLY EVERYWHERE!!!!!!! :pain: and then of course my missile trys to follow them and loses tracking and gets sent into oblivion. I would like to say that i have only shot down 5 people in my lock on experience with my new computer i have just gotton. what is in store for me? i turn to you all my friends to try and help me resolve my issues i am depressed that i cannot recieve any fun from online play and i am so SO SO bored of playing single player! Things i have tried! turned off all automatic updates to Norton and windows and everything else i can think of. > i have installed and correctly configured my "FS autostart" program and i have proven in single players that it works wonders. > in the task manager i have shut down and end proccess all things not needed! > i have called my internet service provider and they PROVED to me that my connection had 0% packet loss and is running at 100% (and had a tour of the facility) > i have shut down all firewalls and opend ALL ports nedded on my router! > I HAVE reinstalled the game 4 times and patched it correctly to 1.12a! > my computer has 5 fans and i do NOT overclock it. I have checked everything that i can think of and yet here i am back where i started. nothing has helped i have no idea what to do and my fun in online play is deminishing! i am a huge fan of the Su-33 and the Su-25T. In servers could the mission the server host has be to HUMUNGOUS? i know many servers out there could be guilty!! please i beg you all my friends to help me battle my war for online play!:helpsmilie: Your fellow slide show pilot Graywo1f Voice of Jester AI Death From Above =DFA= Squadron Discord - https://discord.gg/deathfromabove http://www.twitch.tv/graywo1f https://www.youtube.com/user/Lonewo1fg
FVMAD
hmmm dual core... LO doesn't support dual core, in fact LO's process jumps from one core to another and back... and so on, this results in this kind of slide show. You have to forbid/cancel LO process on one core. Good Luck!
firesoldier845
i just got back into Lock On after taking about a year off so I haven't played online that much. But I used to have a similar problem. I could play for 10-20-30 min or even an hour and then all of a sudden BAM! it was like slow motion stutters. I seem to remember a patch coming out that did something with the network settings and that fixed it for me. But this was years ago I had this issue. What are you connecting at and what is your connection - DSL, Dialup or Cable? I mean could it be an intermittent problem with your ISP? It could be so many things. I remember reading somewhere to always connect at a lower speed to the server than your internet connection really is. For example even if you have a 5.0 mbps internt connection - set your connection rate in LockOn to like 129kps or even 33kbps (dialup). I have to admit though I just got back into LockOn and I mean my online time playing is less than maybe 3 hours in the last week or so. Someone here though will be able to help you. good luck cheers
S77th-konkussion
yep- makes sure you disable one of the cores for lock on, and check to see that you are connected at the right speed (lock on setting) 128/128 is typical. golfsierra2
Get a faster Comp thats all I gonna say. His computer is fast enough for sure, it's the dual core problem that causes his slide show. As others posted before, disable one core by procaff and it will run smooth... But why switching to a dual core (at least for Lock-On) anyway with all the problems showing up ? I still recommend using an 'old fashioned' single core CPU for Lock-On players, I can't see a benefit from using a dual core.... kind regards, Raven.... Floyd
The procaff program shouldn't be needed any longer. AMD released a cpu driver to fix the 'timing' problem: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=81429 Installed it and no procaff needed. Hi Guys, I use Procaff for LO...and still do, even after the AMD release for CPU....I seem to get slight stuttering with the AMD thing...so procaff all the way for me. Check my sig for Specs etc but I have essentially the same specs as greywolf and I get 25-35 online in a 25T. Greywolf: Try both, see how you get on I guess, but the problem is definitely solvable ;) See you in the skies, hopefully on the [DC]/504 Air to Ground server mixing it up with us other Frog drivers :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 487th Helicopter Attack Regiment, of the VVS504 Red Hammers

Pilotasso
Glad it worked but im surprised that only now you found the solution because its pretty simple, and has been stated here about a 100 times. Did you ask before? And you dont have to shutdown 1 CPU for the game, or none of your other aplications will benifit from dual core. Assign the OS to 1 CPU and the other to LOMAC. That will be even better. Im not sure how exactly this is donne, but I have read people doing it and the system gets even more responsive while using LOMAC. 3Sqn_Fudd
As mentioned before, I would highly reccomend ditching the Core isolation/procaff route and hitting up this page for the correct downloads. http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/TechnicalResources/0,,30_182_871_13118,00.html I never had a problem with dual core issues in LOMAC and my rig is nearly the same except its an Opteron rather than a X2 http://3sqn.com/forum/ Here's to 1.13 -- > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0488djMDBU

Im not sure how exactly this is donne, but I have read people doing it and the system gets even more responsive while using LOMAC. Shutting/disabling one core is not needed. What procaff does is to bind the Lomac application to exactly one core and the scheduler (the OS part that says what is going to run on which core) will let run LO on that core ONLY. The nice effect of this is that you still have a second core to run your teamspeak (and other applications) parallel to LO. What you have to do is to tell HL to start Lomac with procaff, i.e. you have to edit the HL start string for LO. HL's man page tells how to do that: http://hyperfighter.sk/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=1 It's number 7, so the startup command reads like: E:\Storage\Asus\procaff\procaff.exe /run 1 "D:\Programme\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\lockon.exe" Path- and foldernames depending on installation, of course. I also seemed to get odd stutters still with the AMD fix but that might just be my setup...procaff = no issues for me so I'm sticking with it.
