D4n Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 So I stumbled across this and remembered IRIS had forum in here too, but it got deleted? Why? What happenend? They already made F-22 for "Prepar3d" scroll down here http://prepar3d.com/product-overview/ DCS Wishlist: 2K11 Krug SA-4 Ganef SAM, VR-TrackIR icons next to player names in score-chart PvP: 100+ manual player-kills with Stingers on a well known dynamic campaign server - 100+ VTOL FARP landings & 125+ hours AV-8B, F-14 crew, royal dutch airforce F-16C - PvP campaigns since 2013 DCS server-admins: please adhere to a common sense gaming industry policy as most server admins throughout the industry do. (After all there's enough hostility on the internet already which really doesn't help anyone. Thanks.) Dell Visor VR headset, Ryzen 5 5600 (6C/12T), RTX 2060 - basic DCS-community rule-of-thumb: Don't believe bad things that a PvP pilot claims about another PvP pilot without having analyzed the existing evidence
smnwrx Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 No one here browsing these forums ever really knows what happens in these cases. Safe to assume the ones that do most likely won't say. Just didn't work out for now.
Gladman Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 I wouldn't buy it. I'd be surprised if it was well received. i9 9900K @ 5.1Ghz - ASUS Maximus Hero XI - 32GB 4266 DDR4 RAM - ASUS RTX 2080Ti - 1 TB NVME - NZXT Kraken 62 Watercooling System - Thrustmaster Warthog Hotas (Virpil Base) - MFG Crosswind Pedals - Pimax 5K+ VFA-25 Fist Of The Fleet [sigpic]http://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic99190_2.gif[/sigpic] Virtual Carrier Strike Group 1 | Discord

SkateZilla Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 A. There is not enough Data available for the F-22A of F-35A,B,C to do a DCS Full Fidelity Module. B. They Discontinued Developing for DCS A Long Time Ago. C. cichlidfan Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 Agree with Skates. IRIS's work on DCS is so long dead that it isn't even worth discussing. Lots of promises and no results. Oh alright, just thought the cockpit does already look fantastic (as Lockheed Martin approves/approved and integrated into "Prepar3D" :) ) DCS Wishlist: 2K11 Krug SA-4 Ganef SAM, VR-TrackIR icons next to player names in score-chart PvP: 100+ manual player-kills with Stingers on a well known dynamic campaign server - 100+ VTOL FARP landings & 125+ hours AV-8B, F-14 crew, royal dutch airforce F-16C - PvP campaigns since 2013 DCS server-admins: please adhere to a common sense gaming industry policy as most server admins throughout the industry do. NeilWillis Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 You think that cockpit looks fantastic? There is also a huge difference between a facsimile produced for other sims, and the kind of intellectual rights negotiations needed for a DCS style ASM/AFM module. There isn't any comparison between something vaguely shaped like an F22, with a vaguely approximated flight model and make-believe systems, and the kind of detail and faithful modelling expected in DCS World. Getting a license for a facsimile isn't as difficult as getting licensing for an in-depth replica. Both are valid, no one questions that, but it is chalk and cheeseI am afraid, so cannot fairly be compared. I suspect that is what Iris, and other would-be developers soon discover. Though in this case it is not really possible to do anything but speculate of course.

Plagi_Arism Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 Frankly guys you have no idea how far went IRIS in the progress of development. (F-14A, BD-5J, F-22A, Avro Vulcan etc.) IIRC the biggest problem was lack of CPP programmer but the 3D models and the SFM/AFM were ready for AIs and for FC3 simulation. May the THRUST be with you
VFA15-Juliet Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 Ditto I wouldn't buy it. I'd be surprised if it was well received. I would not buy this or any other module knowing there is not enough public data for full fidelity aircraft.
