Nice skins.

Any chance to plz port over some Polish skins to the MiG-29G since the Poles got all the -29Gs for a few bucks to supplement their fleet?  When done, maybe a modern Ukrainian skin as a "what if"?

Hello everyone! With the new Cold War Germany terrain there is a need for East German Mig-29s. The liveries I found are not suitable for the new version of the game (they make the Mig-29 appear covered in green checks). It would be nice if suitable liveries were available. Thanks in advance.

I mean that's a valid request, but let's see if they don't encrypt the module first, then we can talk about new liveries. I mean I'm angling for some Fictional ones, and a real world one, but given the F-5 issue, let's wait and see before we get too excited.

German & East German Skin Pack

Release Notes

v11: Update 2024-06-26: Tested with DCS 2.9
v10: Update 2022-05-13: Skins completely redone so that they look now more realistic. Additional skins added. Tested with DCS 2.7.10
v09: Small fixes on the air brake and tested with DCS 2.7.3
v08: "GDR JG-3 604 Last Flight", "GDR JG-3 Scheme-604 Last Flight" and "Luftwaffe 29+01 First Flight" added

!! Please do NOT change the livery names because the livery ressources are cross-linked for space optimization and so the livery name is very important !!

The MiG-29A liveries have fixed BORT numbers and the MiG-29G have 2 dynamic BORT numbers.

These are awesome but is there any chance of adding some more bort numbers ot the MiG-29A? Or making them dynamic?

Thanks for your efforts!

Can someone please show me a screenshot of my East German MiG-29A or C skin in the new map?

Green checks normally means there is a skin file missing. Did they update the MiG-29 models again?

I'm sorry, I confused the CHSubZero liveries - which work perfectly - with others that don't.

Other people should check before working that the stuff works before getting to work. I mean that's what I do first whenever doing a new skin.

Thats what I do too but sometimes ED is making changes to the models and I don't have time to change my liveries every day to fix this 🙂 that's why I was asking because TBH I haven't found time to start DCS for weeks now...

Thanks for your nice words. It took me weeks of research to create those 🙂 Unfortunately I'm unable to create dynamic BORT numbers for the MiG-29A because the size of the bort numbers on the MiG-29A would not allow enough space for a 3rd number in front of them. I'm currently researching for a 4th MiG-29 paint scheme (#699) so I hope to add this in the future as well.

Yeah I think the L-39 is "safe", along with the A-10s, so I'm hedging my bets on that, unless they do change it, and the templates (which I would think they would update too). But I've spent more time skinning than actual flying really. I mean I need to learn some facets of the A-10 but overall I'm also not in any rush.

Ah ok, awesome. Yes at least an extra 1 or 2 liveries for the MiG-29A would be super great! Thanks for doing these! I've been creating a fair amount of missions with them. Here's the last one we flew:

Fantastic, I am very much looking forward to your new GDR MiG-29 livery.

Let's hope ED allows for realistic dynamic three digits bort numbers on the FF MiG-29.

I figure this is the FC3 Fulcrum's hood, but while there's an absence of the FF's own section, here's a wild thought:

Anybody willing to do the original MiG-29UB scheme for the FF 29A of NVA's LSK? I've always hated the LSK scheme for the 29A and the UB's scheme looks so much more fighter-like...

179 and 29+23 are the same airframe:

29+25 used to be 185.

181 became 29+24.

The only missing jet above is 148 (later 29+22), as it was in lizard camo as well.

Looks like there's both a standard grey-green, as well as an off-standard grey-grey variation.

Edit: Looking more closely, both colours are always applied and all three jets have the same camo in very different stages of weathering.
