lo-fi Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Brilliant, keep 'em coming guys! I'm nearly ready to do another full update. Just quickly: Fuselage is detailed, wings and engine nacelles have been integrated. Cockpit has been optimised and integrated (ejection seat still needs to be done). I think a few bits are actually wrong, so I'll set to work on that in due course. Ladder, gun fairing and nose wheel housing need to be addded. Next on the to-do list is the tail, which should be fairly simple in comparison to everything I've done so far. There's not much of the original mesh left now, but I'm happy with the look of it. Poly count without the undercarriage is just under 50K at the moment, with some optimisation still left to do. Pics to follow this evening if I get round to it.
GGTharos Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Keep up the good work! :) I personally know a bunch of LOMAC A-10 pilots who are really looking forward to this! :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
Witchking Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 hear hear....I am looking forward to this along with strikemax's mig 21 and su 27. :D Technically the A 10 along with teh su 25T is where I spent MOST of my lomac time. Deadman Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 Lo-fi has posted an update check it out and lets here a little noise ya bums http://www.lockon-models.com/index.php?showtopic=154&hl=:pilotfly: https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
Disso Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL! I cannot believe, just a few months ago, I thought getting new models to replace the default flyables was completely out of the question, but now, we have models replacing the F-15C, SU-27, and A-10, my 3 most flown aircraft to begin with! The A-10 looks stunning. Definitely keeping a close eye on this! Keep the updates coming! SU-30MKI F/A-18F ...Beauty, grace, lethality.
Dice Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 I have a question. Can you remove the "reverse scoops" on the left side of the aircraft, just forward of the ladder door? Most currnet A-10s (all will be done soon) have been through a mod called If-C (IFFCC) which removes these scoops. Not a big deal but, it would make your model a little more current and, it would even model an A-10C if you ever what to do one of these. Ugly but well hung!
Deadman Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 Dice I am sure that Lo-fi can pull those off with out any problem. I don’t think any one else will complain. Hopefully we can get together some time on a Team speak server. There is a free viewer that will open the model files and do a walk thought on the air craft when the basic modeling is done to critique the model if you have time Thanks Deadman https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
Guest IguanaKing Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 Dice, can ED give us QuickDraw? That would be nice too. :smilewink:
Deadman Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 Hey IK what is quickdraw in refrence to the A-10? https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
Prophet_169th Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 I believe...... When you have a target selected, and you fire Maverick, currently the targeting pipper will reset to center, so you have to slew back over to the area. I think quickdraw should keep the pipper on the target so you can slew over to another target close by.
Deadman Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 ok thanks :pilotfly:Niothing to do with the model though but perhaps ED will see it  https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
Guest IguanaKing Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 QuickDraw is to have the seeker of the next AGM-65 automatically slaved and stabilized on the point the last was slaved and stabilized to. Heh...it was actually a fanciful question since early-90s hogs didn't have this ability. ;)
Deadman Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 Ok and now a word from our sponcers:pilotfly: https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
