nscode Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 The only idiots I see (hear :D) are the guy in the back, and the person who let the other guy in the airplane. (what if he missunderstud the yelling jurk and turned off the engine) Never forget that World War III was not Cold for most of us.
Shaman Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 All I can say is LOL Reminds me of...the Kahuna Burger scene "What?" "What country you from?" "What?" "What ain't no country I ever been to! Do they speak English in What?" "What?" "ENGLISH, mother ****er! DO YOU SPEAK IT?!" "What?" "Say 'What' again! Say 'What' again! RvETito Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 "See, to me that's a stupid instrument. It tells what your angle of attack is. If you don't know you shouldn't be flying." - Chuck Yeager, from the back seat of F-15D at age 89. =RvE=
Guest IguanaKing Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 I'm sure the situation was frustrating, but IMHO that IP lost his cool, something he shouldn't do. What would he have done in an actual emergency he was trying to talk the nugget through? Scream and cuss? Yeah, that helps.
VMFA117_Poko Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006  ........ what?? I'm just kidding Iguana ;). No offence.
STRIKER Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Yeah, big no no for the IP in the back to lose his cool like that. CRM is such a vital tool when flying I cant imagine the guy up front knowing wtf is going on after him yelling like that. On the other hand the front seater shouldnt have been able to fly with such a language barrier. What also got my attention was when the IP was asking where they were going and he got no response not just once but a couple times.....glad I wasnt in that debrief! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Force_Feedback Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 They should cut asians some slack, they, generally (omg, I'm starting with the generalisations, damn :() have trouble pronouncing english words, I guess same applies to understanding. Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
Cosmonaut Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 I've only listened to it once but I think the IP was wrong about everything. The trainee did as he was told and turned the heat off...Actually it sounded like the heat was never turned on in the first place, which is why the trainee probably got confused when he looked at the heater switch in the off position but still had the instructor pilot screaming at him. It was only near the end when the trainee explained that the heat was off that the IP then told him to set some switch to cold, which I assume is the air con if you get what I mean. Cozmo. Guest IguanaKing Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Any time there is a student who is not well-practiced in English trying to function in an all English environment, some of his mental bandwidth is going toward just communicating. A person in a leadership position throwing a temper tantrum like that only makes the communication problem worse. The guy was screaming like he was on fire or something. If he had just told the student to turn the heat down, and if he had to, calmly walked him through finding the control and operating it, I think the problem would have been solved. He started screaming at him right away though, and the student probably started to panic and his brain locked up. I saw someone on youtube say that the IP was allowed to act like that because he was an O-5, to which I say, HORSEFEATHERS!!! He shouldn't be any type of pilot if he's got that much of an anger control problem, let alone an instructor.
EvilBivol-1 Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 ...but IMHO that IP lost his cool... Yeah, big no no for the IP in the back to lose his cool like that. Lost his cool... :megalol: - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. Everything takes much longer. Guest IguanaKing Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 Heh...since the student was Japanese, he might have been from Okinawa. He was probably thinking "What? This temperature feels just fine to me." :D
Kindred Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 Laugh my “heat off”, LOL thanks for sharing this, hahaha, that’s a keeper.
leafer Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 Poor guy... What a dick though, man. It just goes to show what he was really thinking of Japanese pilots in general. I bet if the student had been a big black guy... IP: Sir, turn off the heat please. SP: You mean the ding shizzle? IP: No I mean the heat, sir. SP: I know you talking bout the ding shizzle! IP: Sir, yes... SP: So off is OFF? IP: Sir yes, sir. Loved Jungle Fever by the way. lol ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
SUBS17 Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 LMAO - new callsign for the IP"Stress" Can't really judge this particular movie as it has obviously been edited so we don't know what the student had been doing before hand. He may have placed the temp to hot just to piss the IP off or its even possible that the temp control was broken. We just don't know enough to judge that video seriously. [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC]
