Hey, I don't own the Mirage myself, but I've noticed that when flying in my F-15, most of the times when I am head on to a mirage, I don't see his nails on the RWR, but I can clearly see that he is tracking me, as I beam him left and right and he follows me trough.

Is it TWS ? In the F-15, even if you are tracking someone in TWS, they still see your nails !

How come the Mirage can see you on his radar, but you can't see his radar on RWR ?

He's using his own radar to track the Mirage, so he can see what the Mirage pilot is doing. The Mirage followed his left and right turns, indicating that it could see what he was doing as well- given that both were beyond visual range, the only way for the Mirage to track him was using its radar.

No, the mirage can't do such things, he might have visual on you or a GCI helping.

tought this for the first.

if not... maybe a bug? model enlargement?

Definitely BVR, 20+miles + no GCI on the Open Conflict server where I noticed it for the last time. It really looks like radar tracking from my radar. I mean there is a curtain behavior you notice when they are tracking you

no GCI on the Open Conflict server

There is an AWACS, while not being as accurate, smart, helpfull or quick as a real GCI, it acts in the same way.

AWACS, can't tell you in real time if I am turning left or right and especially when I do both in a quick succession

Well define quick, because he could have gotten the bogey dopes quickly too. You should post the track or a tacview file.

Him turning as I am turning ? Is that quick enough for you ?

As in his vector on your radar, in TWS mode, is always pointing straight at you?

- Jack of many DCS modules, master of none.

- Personal wishlist: F-15A, F-4S Phantom II, JAS 39A Gripen, SAAB 35 Draken, F-104 Starfighter, Panavia Tornado IDS.

Yes, I turn right and start beaming him, they start (this is not a one time incident) turning left to intercept, I do quick roll over and turn the opposite way, and they immediately counter

Its been a while since i last flown it. But IIRC the Mirage was TWS, which wouldn't trigger the US RWR?. IIRC, when wanting to lock for firing a Super 530, you need to hit lock twice. First time engages TWS and the second time it paints the target for the semi active missile.

I have only seen it in the F-15C. That is my only fighter, so I have no clue about other planes. If I can get a track of it Ill post this to the bug thread in the main bug forum. I asked here just to make sure it doesn't have some special french technology :D

And I say again, this is not a single occurrence

- Does the F-15 RWR have full 360° coverage, or was that Mirage somehow hiding in a blind spot?

- Did you have battle damage with one or more RWR antennas being destroyed?

- Do you have Random System Failures enabled in the Option Menu?

Those are pretty much the only things I can think of that could explain this behaviour, aside from a bug or glitch in the Matrix ;-)

Like most planes the eagle has a rwr blindspot above and below the fuselage.

Although it seems you're the only one experiencing such a behaviour. A track or a TacView file would really help in this case.

Guys, if I am tracking him, where the F do you think he is ? I am tracking him with my back radar ? Straight on, 12 o'clock. No damage, new plane. I don't know, but I believe a server like OC wouldn't run that

You don't have to hit lock button twice when in TWS. You just need to hit lock for little bit longer and it will automatically switch to STT and lunch the missile.

Have you been thinking of avoiding flying on servers with settings DATA EXPORT = YES? :music_whistling:

I once got a magic II IR lock ( + visual ) on an ennemy fighter at slightly more than 20nm, while i was in his 3'o clock ( i checked the range with my radar ).

settings ( for the visual part ) : visibility in Ultra
