MikeMikeJuliet
If you buy this thinking it's 15$ for all airplanes, and it turns out it's 15$ for each, then devs can say it's your fault as you didn't read what you pay for. Confusing, but it is what it is. Which is exactly why I'm not jumping the gun. I mean, just because a module is out doesn't mean you need to have it right now. I have not understood that mentality in a long time... buying "straight out of the oven" with games (and flight sims) in today's market just burns you... Because nothing ever works before the first 2-3 hotfixes. Patience. We will have information. 1 DCS Finland | SF squadron
Abburo
I am waiting for some official statements before buying this. While it is a very great addition, I really hope to not turn the DCS concept in buying airframes by parts and then working on assembly. It may become a "Pimp my Aircraft" . Next module will be 42" TV display for passengers :))) ... Sorry but I cannot stop myself... being so amused :D Romanian Community for DCS World HW Specs: AMD 7900X, 64GB RAM, RTX 4090, HOTAS Virpil, MFG, CLS-E, custom

OperatorJack
Don't see what the big deal is w/ it being a Paid-DLC. 1. The Device itself is a Paid Addon for the Mi-8 in real life, and not Part of the Aircraft's Core Function. 2. The Device is a Complex device, with it's own O/S and Functions. If you dont want GPS, dont buy it, Simple. The real Garmin GPS is .8 percent the cost of a real Mi-8. Using the realism of having to buy it seperate as an excuse can allow me to argue the DCS version should be like 4 dollars :music_whistling: Edited September 6, 2017 by OperatorJack typo /да бойз/ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Arsonist
Well, how about ED wants to release a new feature patch before announcing it, because if they do it the other way round, and it gets slightly delayed for whatever reason, people start complaining? On the other hand, people seem also to complain when it is patched first and communicated two days later. So, yea, not quite sure what to say... Furthermore, no one is forced to buy this product, especially not in that instant when it gets released. It's not like not having this module prevents you from flying...

Ah well excuse me for having a vested interest in a flight sim I've invested a fair bit of money into. You can't really dismiss my opinion on the matter purely because I don't own this specific module, that's just poor argument technique. I suppose you never really practise it though since you normally just suspend posting rights rather than arguing :smilewink: 1 /да бойз/ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

SkateZilla
how can you have an Opinion on something you cannot use because you do not own the module it connects to? that's like me saying I hate the Mopar Exhaust for the Viper when I dont even own a Viper. No I didn't say that, I'm just concerned that the Combat part of DCS is becoming sidelined and community engagement leaves a lot to be desired. Because they built a GPS system? Yeah, its not like they are developing a F/A-18C... so I can see how your concerns about combat are warranted... Look at the bigger picture, systems like this can and should lead to a better more evolved ATC system at some point... dont be so narrow minded. Besides, I am sure you can use this GPS in the Mi-8 to get to a location to blow something up.... Vitormouraa
And also Garmin is used in a variety of military aircraft. From Mustangs (not an actual military aircraft but still) to Su-25s, Su-24s and many more. This system isn't only used by GA aircraft... ED Team NineLine Posted September 6, 2017 ED Team Share Posted September 6, 2017 Guys, also understand this isnt an ED product, its a BST product, for a BST module. If another developer wants to add it, I am sure there will have to be some figuring and such to make it happen. So give them time, they probably want to make sure its smooth sailing on the Mi-8 before committing to another module.
