F-15C flight model | What’s going on… unplayable?!?

[Solved] z axis bound to throttle and ruder by default.

*If anyone is having problems with ‘Flaming Cliff’s’ aircrafts; check ‘Axis Commands’ configuration.

Hi. Everyone knows the SU-25T. It’s flight model is superb... this free airplane, had made DCS what it is!

I like the Viper so, right now I usually fly the Mirage; the closest thing to it. The flight model is really, really good.

I have the “Flaming Cliffs 3” module too. Last night I’ve tried the F-15C.

I just can’t fly it! The airplane is “super” sensitive and keeps “jumping” around… I don’t remember it to be like this. Didn’t ‘ED’ made a new PFS for it? I really don’t know what’s going on…

I can fly well the Mirage and the Tiger. The F-15 is simply impossible, at least for me… can’t even maintain a level flight!

SU-25 = Almost there

MIG-29 = Hummm

SU-27 = Good

A-10 = Ok

F-15 = What?

*Flaming Cliffs’ F-15C (F15.dll 3 804KB)

*Flaming Cliffs’ F-15C (NO F15CCWS.dll)

*F-15C (F15.dll 3 804KB)

*F-15C (F15CCWS.dll 31KB)

User error? Bad HOTAS configuration? How do you manage to fly it like this, online?

Kind regards

The F-15 does have a PFM and it flies straight and level all by itself thanks to that PTC.

It's probably a configuration error. Typically you will find that your rudder might be bound to both rudder and stick axis ... check for that.

No it isn't. You might want to check the Mirage subforum.

About the F-15: it's probably the easiest of the DCS aircraft to fly: you don't even need to trim it, it basically flies itself. I would indeed say it's an improper controls setup.

I guess Battlefield 3 is real then, because the real eagle flies pretty darn close to what's modeled.

Go in close, and when you think you are too close, go in closer.

Hello. You’re completely right. By default, the z axis was bound to throttle and ruder(!).

I edited the axis configuration and corrected it; also added some ‘Deadzone/Curvature’…all right now! But I must say, after flying the Mirage and the Tiger; this F-15 doesn’t totally convince me.

Anyway, thanks for the help.

Well, I don’t know if it’s flight model (Mirage) is ‘like/close’ to the real airplane or not. I’m enjoying to fly it a lot… very easy and forgiven airplane. Can you elaborate what’s going on with the Mirage?

*If it needs more work; shouldn’t ‘RAZBAM’ concentrate his time to finalize this module (released/on sale), instead of making new models (Harrier)?

Regards to all.

Flies very close to how the real deal flies. If you're ever curious you can check the performance against the -1 manual (real pilot's manual), as well as the extensive performance studies conducted by NASA.

Anyway, glad you got it working! :)
