every 3.5hrs or so - this crash happened again, server runs nice on this patch, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE find this bug, no boats. I installed this version back because the other 1.5.7 versions are a complete and total lagfest and crashed anyway about 1 time a day (planes would stop flying in midair, I guess, incompatibility in packets maybe between versions). I just HOPE HOPE HOPE I don't lose all my server population over this.

I'm going to try to put my mission on latest and see what happens. We'll get great traffic today and I'll be monitoring crashes.

104th Dedicated was updated to 1.5.7.10872 and crashed with a weapons.dll fault about 30 mins into a session pretty much the same problem as before, we have rolled back to 1.5.7.9459.

I hope this is the #1 looked over problem in the entire game right now, if it isn't, you need to switch your prioritys. I am posting because there has been a change in behavior with the recent patch 1.5.7.10872 .

 

The server now crashes every 1-2 hours instead of 1-2 times a day.

I am going to revert to 1.5.7.10175 - it crashes less frequently but runs smoothly between crashes

 

Update:1.5.7.10872 went back to 2 times a day, so I don't think the last patch is the culprit now.

the weapons.dll crash feature has been in since the beta over a month ago

My experience is that the busier the server the quicker it happens, just revert to the working earlier version of 1.5.7.9459 and it wont happen

This happened when firing a couple of unguided Aim-120C or Aim-9M missiles from a (ramp started) F-15C, right after i fired the last missile pressed ESC and Quit to desktop.

 

The only mission where it didn't happen was a simple test mission with a single F-15 and nothing else so (apparently) it needs to be a somewhat more crowded mission.

 

Tested in a MP setup.

Ok i was able to reproduce this crash 3 times in a row using 3 different missions.

This is the line we see that happens just before the crashlogs in all major server logs.

 

Good find, thanks for the info. There's no way to keep this from happening or enforcing it in game, or even making some edits to do so, we really need a fix from ED here.

Nope its been a month living with this and ED still have no idea what causes it

ED are trying to organise an MP event where the will have a "special" version of DCS to debug and see why it crashes

Well, recreatable bugs should be fairly easy to find. In case of an app crash you start logging stuff until you found the culprit. Anyway, guess we can do another week with the stable host version.

Very rarely can we complete a mission. The more people on it the faster it crashes. Got logs and dumps if ya want it. Exact same problem with exact same messages before it crashes.

 

You can supply ED log and crash dumps for this bug until the cows come home ..

but it will do no good, they do not have any usefull info in them

So can we have some details on what it was, can we turn off certain units or weapons while we wait for this fix to come to use, My server is still crashing 6+ times a day due to this.

 

I wish we can have a micro patch just to fix this, its really needed, waiting another weak is painful

Hi Drexx,

 

The bug is server side, in basic terms it is related to how the server is scanning for objects, there is nothing you can do to counter it as far as I am aware.

 

I do not have any ETA for the patch sorry, if I find out, and if I am allowed, I will pass it on to you all.
