Just updated my GPU driver to the latest release 388.00 and it appears it has given me about 5 FPS:thumbup: more in the Normandy Map. Not sure if it is the direct result of the drivers as I am always experimenting with different settings trying to get the FPS up in the Normandy map so may just be a placebo effect.:music_whistling: One thing I can say is that the new drivers are NOT giving me the types of issues that in the past have always caused me to revert back to earlier drivers. Might try them and see how your milage varies. So many different setups it's hard to say what works for one will work for others.:pilotfly:

I found out that since version 387.92 and later re-works Fast sync.

Anyone running these and VR? If so, how is it working out?

 

I've installed it and flew a couple quick SP missions in the Mi-8. Had no issues, but I've only tried it with 1.5.7. Haven't had the time to perform a more extensive check yet. I'll have a chance later this week.

 

(Note my O/S is Win 8.1, FWIW).

I haven't noticed this any earlier but apparently 388.00 breaks G-Sync for my rig.

 

388.10beta solved it again, just installed it.

 

My Gsync LED was white instead of the Gsync-Red, that's how I found out. Despite all settings were on Gsync and correct.

 

Maybe check your Gsync if it's actually "ON" and working if you run 388.00

Has anyone noticed after the Fall Creators Update their NVidia GPU idle temperature has risen to around 50c from around 33c? I'm currently using 388.00 drivers.

 

Actually not, at modest 29°C now on mine, 388.10-beta.

 

I would consider the new driver released 2 days ago and get away from 388.00.

Or better yet, the WHQL approved 383.13 driver that's been released yesterday.

i386DX40@42 MHz w/i387 CP, 4 MB RAM (8*512 kB), Trident 8900C 1 MB w/16-bit RAMDAC ISA, Quantum 340 MB UDMA33, SB 16, DOS 6.22 w/QEMM + Win3.11CE, Quickshot 1btn 2axis, Numpad as hat. 2 FPH on a good day, 1 FPH avg.

 

DISCLAIMER: My posts are still absolutely useless. Just finding excuses not to learn the F-14 (HB's Swansong?).

Are you running with Fall Creators Update Windows 10 version 1709?

I have the 388.13 installed. I've spoken with both Nvidia and Microsoft, they both say there is some noticeable increase in idle temperature in the Fall Creators Update.

Yes, newest one, 29Celsius idle with waterblock, 980gtx

What is Fast sync please?

 

A new technology to prevent screen tearing, instead of using Vsync (who introduce a lot of input lag).

Vertical sync synchronizes the frame rate of the game with the monitor refresh rate for better stability.

This driver is not as good as the previous one for DCS IMO. I wonder if anyone else is having poor performance with 388.13 ?
