Magnitude 3 LLC, you can probably get further in the Spectrum download by taking a screwdriver and adjusting the magnetic tape head of the player, that's how it was done back then ;)

Dang, didn't factor the significance of that. Maybe I spoke too soon.

Hmmm... if it's a direct hint to a playable aircraft in one of the games that was available for it, the list is:

Avro Lancaster

Bell X-1

Boeing AH-64 Apache

British Aerospace Sea Harrier

Cessna 172

Curtiss P-40

Douglas X-3 Stiletto

General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon

Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird

McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle

McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet

North American P-51 Mustang

Piper PA-28 Cherokee

Sopwith Camel

SPAD S.XIII

Supermarine Spitfire

The F-16 and Sea Harrier fit the 1970's bill, since we already have the Spitfire, Eagle and the P-40 and Hornet are on the way. I can't imagine them making anything else on that list.

The SR-71 is a "super bird" and would fit with the reconnaissance photo teaser. It set the record for fastest air-breathing manned aircraft since 1976. So maybe that fits in a way. That would certainly be a shock.

My soul for a Lancaster! :bounce:

We need to have prizes each year for all the threads that get openend.

I hereby nominate this thread for the following prizes:

-Most times the word 'disappointment' or a synonymous has been used

-Most times jumped to conclusions in one thread

-Most ridicioulous aircraft in one thread

-The biggest troll by a 3rd Party Dev ever

I think its going to be an F-16, all clues are very obvious

Nah... the most use of the word disappointed/similar is in the VEAO Hawk threads unfortunately...

What else is there to do in a thread as ridiculous as this one :music_whistling:

Its absolutely hilarious to see how people get all worked up, and allow themselves to be trolled!

When I saw their logo, it reminded me of the MiG-29 OVT demonstrator and the big red star on its back, but I can't fit a MiG-29 anywhere on that Spectrum picture.

So, looking from the looming perspective of the Christen Eagle II (or any other bi-plane), I retract everything bad I've said about the G-4 being just another trainer :) Hey, at least it has 65B's and BL755's. That beats smoke generators in my book any day of the week.

DISCLAIMER: My posts are still absolutely useless. Just finding excuses not to learn the F-14 (HB's Swansong?).

Annoyed by my posts? Please consider donating. Once the target sum is reached, I'll be off to somewhere nice I promise not to post from. I'd buy that for a dollar!

Can't argue with that :D

I guess trainers are indeed not the end of the world (but not far from it) :P

Hey, now you're talking about it, it's an helluva commercial strategy. You hint the community toward an ultra-light, then bam, it's a Cessna Caravan with Hellfires.
