I have a small problem with my preorder, could you help me clear that up? I've preordered via sales_en@vkb-sim.pro

I've made my original preorder request on Oct. 1st, and changed the preorder mid November to a single MCG Pro, 3-pin orginal (for Gunfighter Mk.I) with cyrillic labels. Expedited shipping to Europe (non-EU).

A few days ago I've asked for a status update, as well as terms of payment. I've got an email reply telling me I should order via the AliExpress shop! Is the 3-pin original even shipping already? Also I had exspected that I would get a PayPal payment request like last time?

Another questions please

1) with the gunfighter with the mcg pro grip, can be used custom extensions (like the ones for the warthog) or we are stuck with the one that vkb sells with the gunfighter pro mcg pro?

2) it is possible to mount the gunfighter with mcg pro without the big base plate? (Like the Warthog)

Actually I have a Warthog with an 5cm extension mounted on my seat and I would like to keep it that way..so the VKB extension is too long for me (I can't mount directly on the floor) .

Thanks

VKB grip/extension attachment is different from Warthog attachment, hence no way to use extension made for Warthog.

Yes but bolt pattern is different from Warthog base, requiring new holes in your actual mount (cockpit, game chair).

Well, cut down VKB extension tube for ~5 cm. :D

It is difficult?

For the holes pattern in the seat no problem..I can drill it like the ones for the Warthog

One other Gladiator II question: is there a functional difference (other than the buttons/throttle) between the Gunfighter and Gladiator II base for the MCG? In other words, is the gimbal identical? I'm curious because the Gladiator II has additional buttons and functionality, yet is less expensive than the Gunfighter. Thx!

Maybe, for a reason... (see attached pictures: same manufacturer, same - high - quality, different names, different price).

Gimbals are different, too. As well as pretty much everything else.

a possible flaw in some of the triggers

Honestly, I have problems trying to understand people who instead of opening a ticket at the shop opt to sit down to write posts to the forums.

VKB North America has a perfect, I'm not afraid to use this word, a perfect support system.

Had your reddit friend opened a ticket there prior to shouting from the rooftops? Answer: negative.

Reason? Unclear.

Regarding the trigger/board: perhaps the guy at the assembling line screwed the spring a bit too deep into its base. Hence, solution One: using tweezers, turn the spring counterclockwise like half a turn or a bit more depending on how much of it remains fixed in the base. Solution Two: stick a tiny patch of masking tape onto the top or bottom or both sides of the board and slide it back into its guides so it stays there as if bolted down.

Well, he isn't my friend, I have no idea who he is. He isn't "shouting from the rooftops" he is asking for help there instead of the support system to see if anyone else had the issue. I will send your suggestion along and suggest he open a support ticket along with your possible solutions.

:music_whistling:

In the shop there are trained personnel :geek: knowing how to solve problems, and knowing how to do it fast (and having authority to issue replacement or refund in case things go sour).

These guys are also interested in - in the best interest and on behalf of the whole community - building a comprehensive knowledge base on bugs and flaws, and how to deal with bugs and flaws. Why not go to them first? - it still sorta escapes me.

A dentist can kill toothache better and faster than a neighborhood community meeting. Moreover, our dentists are free...

And at the end where does the answer come from? - right, from VKB support. Same as it would, except now time is wasted.

I dunno, a bottle of jack and a hammer could fix a toothache fast. :D

I can't give you a reason that he posted there instead of a support ticket. ;)

AeroGAtor,

Sorry to be one who point this for you, but the guy open a topic in VKB forum - Technical Support, simultaneous to Reddit topic:

Not answered until now...

Is it possible to cut VKB extension without damaging anything?

It is difficult?

I don't know, is just a "sily" idea. :P

But more logical just remove that "S" tube - the end parts use 2 bolts on side, and replaced by a aluminum/carbon fiber* tube with suitable diameter, probable require un-solder/solder the wires in one end.

BTW - In VKB topic in Il2.ru are talk about a kit with extension ends and wires only, to allow user make a extension in any length, maybe available "in the future". :D

*Hazardous to cut with proper protection equipment.

the guy open a topic in VKB forum

He did not open a ticket at the SHOP, as I clearly wrote. Sorry for pointing it out to you.

We want to make shops work do their job, and our tech team - do theirs.

Forums are fine, and we do help there, as you know.

However it's time to optimize and streamline the after-sales procedures to everyone's benefit.

FIRST thing to do is open a ticket. (not even "first"; it needs to be the "zero'th").

After* the ticket is opened, if the user thinks it might be interesting to the community, he is free to start the topic at the forum. We would also appreciate if the user not only tells the community about the problem he has, but also about what solution the tech-support offered him. This way people would learn what to do and how to fix minor problems by their own hands whenever possible.

____

*After - means after, not instead.

Aftersales, support, discussion :)

Thought I should post it as a separate entry.

We are now trying to sort out, optimize and properly delimitate who does what.

To help us keep our efficiency and make support come as fast as possible, we are asking all users:

  • In case of any trouble, first open a ticket at the shop you bought your device.

This will ensure you get helped the fastest possible way. Also, it will help us keep the statistics, which is hardly possible to do at the forums.

Forums, including the primary forum at VKB site, are also fine, but as a supplement, not substitute.

With the help of the forums I hope we can tell more people what to do in case something doesn't work the way it should, and discuss the better ways to fix problems, and share ideas what we should look at to improve the product.

However the first place to call is the shop, let's see it as an emergency ward. Whatever the shop fails to help with, they will pass over to us, and we will be there to help.

:smartass:

Do not take my words as if I discourage you from being active on forums, so don't hesitate to write about problems you have. I'm just trying to channel emergency first aid requests to shops, and discussing the results of this help to forums.

We're not trying to hide our flaws in silence, in fact it's [nearly] the opposite: we're trying to educate as many folks as possible how to manage small screwups by themselves. But when the previously unknown bug shows up we prefer it first be dealt with by specialists, not the public.

AeroGator, you should edit the "How to request technical support" sticky in that forum section with instructions to open a ticket first. That will probably really help fix the mistake. I honestly didn't know a ticket system existed!

edit the "How to request technical support" sticky

Thanks Aaron, done already.

It is all still in progress, not yet finalized, and you know sometimes we're puling in different directions.

Everything will be fine later :)

And if we purchased from Stratojet, where would we direct our queries?

You can still go ahead posting our queries at the main forum at http://forum.vkb-sim.pro; we are still in transition and it will take [quite] some time before all shops get as great a ticketing system as the one in North America.

Does anyone have a measurement from top to bottom of the Gunfighter Pro base with the extension and a MCG mounted?

One last follow up question, can I order the MCG Pro without any labels at all? Labels on either this of the TECS might be a deal breaker for me...I hate labels.

1 - A bit too busy today to carry out all I promised, so just briefly:

- we were considering it at the beginning, and it looked possible, not so much now, BUT do not despair we requested the factory right 10 minutes ago. there is a chance they say yes. will reply to you either later tonight, or some time tmrw.

2 - Same, morgen morgen nur nicht heute - either tmrw, or a day or two later we will post up a drawing with dimensions. Can;t firmly promise exact day but just "as soon as we ship out the last remaining pre-orders". Which is real soon.

Do _not_ hesitate to remind me. I do tend to forget things like this, so don't feel embarrassed.

Sounds good, thanks boss. Good luck with the busy next couple of days!
