PMIK Posted February 8, 2018 Posted February 8, 2018 After quite a bit of tweaking I managed to get 2.5 running on my relatively older PC with a compromise between visuals and performance. I'm overall very happy with it. Except I get this odd texture reflection problem in the direct line of the sun and only on the Nevada map. I've switched off all external graphics options, I've tried without MSAA or AF. I don't get the same problem on Caucasus or Normandy. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance My system specs: i7-3770 3.40GHz Radeon R9 200/HD 7900 series 16Gb RAM

PMIK Posted February 8, 2018 Author Posted February 8, 2018 I did a bit more of a search and I found this thread with same problem: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=201846 Seems that its not me or my system but rather a bug with a recent update. How do we flag this issue with ED? It's making otherwise beautiful terrain look really terrible!

lasvideo Posted February 17, 2018 Posted February 17, 2018 (edited) Im seeing the same "wet reflective frozen" spots all over NTTR. Looks more like a swamp then a desert. And living here in Vegas I KNOW thats not right ;) Edited February 17, 2018 by lasvideo Win 10 I7 6700K @ 4.0 GHZ. 16 gig memory GTX 1070 SSD

Mustang Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 I believe this bug is fixed in the 2.5.0.15085.337 today.
SonofEil Posted March 15, 2018 Posted March 15, 2018 I believe this bug is fixed in the 2.5.0.15085.337 today. Was this a bug though? I thought they were going for a kind of "baked earth" effect. And though it could have used some tuning (specifically, hiding the texture's pattern when at higher altitudes) and maybe a little toning down, I really liked the effect. It added a little needed depth and detail to a fairly barren and monotonous landscape. Just flew the new update and I kind of miss it. i7 7700K @5.0, 1080Ti, 32GB DDR4, HMD Odyssey, TM WH, Crosswind Rudder...
PMIK Posted March 15, 2018 Author Posted March 15, 2018 It's definitely a bug. While it may be an effect that needs some tuning, it's currently terribly ugly and as someone said above, makes the desert look like a swamp. I can see what you mean about adding depth but in its current state I am glad its gone
PMIK Posted March 16, 2018 Author Posted March 16, 2018 Aargh - so I finally got a chance to try nevada after the new patch and while the weird light effect is gone, now all the buildings are gone too! There is not a single building, car, or lamp post. Nothing at all. Caucasus and Normandy are working fine with everything visible. Any ideas???
Art-J Posted March 16, 2018 Posted March 16, 2018 ^ A bug got through with the latest hotfix, removing all structures off the NTTR map. It's been reported, you'll have to wait till it's fixed. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
jef32 Posted March 17, 2018 Posted March 17, 2018 No, for me, all is quite perfect.........in 2.2 I took care to not erase the 2.2, when I have installed the 2.5 bêta. But honestly, since the big graphic firework of the Caucasus in 2.5 b, it's very unusual when I want to fly above the sands of las Vegas.
