capthaltli Posted March 1, 2018 Posted March 1, 2018 Obviously a little ways off, but this has me encouraged that one day in VR we may fly with gloves that give tactile/force feedback response. Could be really cool for a cockpit and flippin switches. [sIGPIC] "GOONIE" [/sIGPIC] "GOONIE" CSG-1 VFA-25

For me it would have to be wireless for one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk [sIGPIC]If you are still under control you are not going fast enough[/sIGPIC]

TomOnSteam Posted March 3, 2018 Posted March 3, 2018 Being able to feel the switches and knobs, and feeling the click of a button on the UFC etc would just be amazing for DCS. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cockpit Spectator Mode
hannibal Posted March 3, 2018 Posted March 3, 2018 6 years time.. haptic glove to control DCS vitrual cockpit is my prediction find me on steam! username: Hannibal_A101A http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197969447179
Brewnix Posted March 3, 2018 Posted March 3, 2018 If it were to become a option later in life who would make it compatible with DCS would that be ED thing or would the Haptx company making a mod or port to work in DCS? And I am just dreaming here but could you imagine with that glove opening the Spitfire canopy sticking your hand out and feel the prop wash. Or you could actually grab the side of the aircraft to lean and look out of the cockpit. Just dreaming. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Interesting video, but the guy said, in the middle, "I'm totally against VR, and don't think it will ever catch on, but this changed my mind".....how can ANYBODY say that, in today's world :) i9-9900K @5.1Ghz w/ 32GB RAM, RTX2080 Super w/ 8G, Samsung Odyssey VR HMD, 1 TB SSD, VKB Gladiator MKII, TM TWCS throttle, Saitek Pro Yoke, Saitek Throttle Quadrant x2, CH Pro Pedals, Obutto Ozone
hansangb Posted March 6, 2018 Posted March 6, 2018 because outside of games, it's a bit gimmicky. Because it lacks haptic feedback, limited FOV etc. I love it to death for DCS, but the HMDs are still a bit clunky etc.etc. hsb HW Spec in Spoiler --- i7-10700K Direct-To-Die/OC'ed to 5.1GHz, MSI Z490 MB, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz, EVGA 2080 Ti FTW3, NVMe+SSD, Win 10 x64 Pro, MFG, Warthog, TM MFDs, Komodo Huey set, Rverbe G1

Sure, it's not there yet, but to say he didn't think it "would ever catch on" reminds me of the interview of the US Postmaster General I heard in the late 80's - when asked if he thought email would impact the number of letters people would send, replied "Emails are a fad. They'll never catch on. People will always send letters". i9-9900K @5.1Ghz w/ 32GB RAM, RTX2080 Super w/ 8G, Samsung Odyssey VR HMD, 1 TB SSD, VKB Gladiator MKII, TM TWCS throttle, Saitek Pro Yoke, Saitek Throttle Quadrant x2, CH Pro Pedals, Obutto Ozone
hansangb Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 Oh I got you. It's the future w/o out doubt. Even with all the limitations, I still won't fly w/o VR! I'm actually going to go check out XPlane because they have native VR support now, I'm told. hsb HW Spec in Spoiler --- i7-10700K Direct-To-Die/OC'ed to 5.1GHz, MSI Z490 MB, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz, EVGA 2080 Ti FTW3, NVMe+SSD, Win 10 x64 Pro, MFG, Warthog, TM MFDs, Komodo Huey set, Rverbe G1
lobo Posted March 8, 2018 Posted March 8, 2018 Personally don't need haptic feedback, just need gloves. (wireless) Lobo's DCS A-10C Normal Checklist & Quick Reference Handbook current version 8D available here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/172905/
