Valium Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 As you could notice, 2.5 stable version was relased. I haven't downloaded stable version yet. What's your opinion, is there any noticable difference between Open Beta and stable version? Mostly, I mean working without crashing, fps drops, lagging, etc. Click here to see more pictures of Polish Air Force! Check also my album.

crankit85 Posted April 6, 2018 Posted April 6, 2018 For whatever reason, i'm getting lower frames on the stable version then the beta. I uninstalled the beta and installed a fresh copy of the stable. I run VR with PD at 1.4. I use to be able to use MSAA at 4x with this for a minimum 45fps, now with the same settings I'm around a minimum of 25fps. All other settings are identical like, shadows, differed shading etc etc. My Specs are 1080ti 6700K overclocked to 4.5ghz 32gb ram Samsung Odyssey Headset Sata SSD. Just playing around with nvidia control panel, hoping it's something there.
Tomsk Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 It's also worth noting that using Skatezilla's Updater tool this afternoon to try and install the Nevada terrain into my "DCS World 2.5" install infact installed it into my "DCS World 2.5 Open Beta" install. Which was a little vexing.
Tarabostes Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 Hey guys , please dont hate me but just to be sure ,if i install the stable version when new patch will be available ,this version will ask me to update like before, right?

It's not just you, 2.5 is unplayable in VR for me now, I'm running a much older setup with a 780ti and i7, 12GB ram, and a Rift. But 1.5 and 2.0 ran fine, 2.5 ran okay too until one of the more recent updates. Now I'm only getting 1 to 10 fps.
sslechta Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 Bipper, your specs are a little low for 2.5. The graphic drain on the system has increased several times over. JUICE-AWG Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 Is there a simple and safe way to convert from 2.5.1 Open Beta to the 2.5.0 Stable??? "There are only two types of aircraft, Fighters and Targets." Doyle "Wahoo" Nicholson [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Esac_mirmidon Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 Yes. Go to your DCS main folder, bin folder. Click once on the bin folder and then while pressing LEFT SHIFT + Right mouse button, select Open command box here ( MS DOS window ) On the MS DOS windows type DCS_updater.exe update @release Thats all. Or use the fantastic GUI from Skatezilla. Search for it on this forum. " You must think in russian.." JUICE-AWG Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 Thanks, That worked...I tried manually typing it in before and couldn't work around that > symbol while in the cmd prompt but moving to the BIN folder for the start fixed...much appreciated! Barnowl Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 Esac, When I ran the updater as you mentioned I get DCS_Updater 2.6.25.40 and then 2.5.0.15365.345 is up to date. Esac_mirmidon Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 (edited) Thats correct. Thats the latest Release Version for DCS. You already have the last one. V61 wanted to change his Open Beta 2.5.1 to Release 2.5.0 without starting from zero. Edited April 28, 2018 by Esac_mirmidon " You must think in russian.." Barnowl Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 But I want to go to 2.5.1, how do I do that? Windows 10 x64, Intel i9 11900K, cooled by Cooler Master water cooler, 64GB DDR4, Asus Z590-E Wifi, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 8GB, 4 NVMe SSD's, Sony 27", Delan Clip using Opentrack, WinWing F-15EX Throttle, F-16EX Stick, Skywalker Rudder, and 2 MFD's with display units, MS Sidewinder FFB Stick
Esac_mirmidon Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 Oh, i see. Then is the same procedure but use instead: DCS_updater.exe update @release I really recommend using the fantastic Skatezilla GUI program, is amazing for this. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=160053 " You must think in russian.." Barnowl Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 And Skatezillas program does the same thing.
