Wish: New Mig-23 3D model

With the upcoming Persian Gulf Map, at least some love to a new Mig 23 Flogger 3D model is my wish as its a hot adversary for F14 + F/A-18C , which will be involved in DCS soon.

 

 

An eyecandy Flogger really would be a Thing !

Finally, with Modders like Cubanace already involved in some Mig23 Project , this would be nice to get the ball rolling again for the Flogger, say flyable mod etc..

I would say ED have to update every 2008 external model of these aircraft which are not planned to be released soon as flyable modules such as Mig-23, Mig-25, Su-17, Su-34, S-3, all large bombers and so on.

I've reported this before and the ED team says they are always working on it. It's been at least a year since the last time I checked this and they keep announcing a dozen new projects, fix the existing platform before moving on, its time all the old models and ordinance get upgraded.

If someone check the newsletter and the "unofficial" roadmap you can see a great quantity of 3D models updated on the last years front the release of DCS World. Have a great quantity of 3D models to update from the time of LOMAC, FC, K-50 and actually more of them has been on To-do, in progress or awaiting to release.

 

The actual list "on progress" to update old 3D models has B-1B, B-52, S-3, F-4E, Su-34, Tu-95, F-14, F-16, Kutnesov carrier and others.

I appreciate every 3D model which gets updated by ED and I hope this list gets amended by the Flogger soon, as it would perfectly make sense. :thumbup:

 

We soon get eyecandy Tomcats and Hornets in an eyecandy Persian Gulf Scenario and I hope we wont see them encountering "Pixel Floggers" for too long :D

Then hire more artists to get the job done (interns or something for the summer) and create new modules as they go. The faster they update legacy units and objects the faster they can concentrate on future modules and development in the long run.

Last I checked, you still have to pay those people. The other problem is skill level. If you want high quality then you need people with skills that the average 'intern' is not going to have.

It's all well and good for us to sit back in our comfortable gaming chairs and suddenly fix EDs issues by saying things like "Just do 'X' and you can get 'Y'..." It's one thing to make suggestions - and I do agree, aircraft used in the locales the terrains take us could use an upgrade - but it's another entirely for anyone not working for or with ED to tell them how to do their job.

 

I'm sure they'll get the attention they deserve in the fullness of time - they're just a little busy. An old model isn't going to kill the game, but releasing a broken EA Hornet might. Patience.

"Wish List", not "Demand List" or "Business Analysis". It wasn't directed at the OP. It could be a language or context disconnect, just a couple posts I read in here come across as people demanding ED do a thing when they've clearly got their hands full right now.
