Rain Droplets on HUD glass

Hello,

 

The new effects look sick but the HUD is soaked with rain even with the canopy closed.

I don't think that it's the sim. I'm fairly confident Razbam used the same glass texture (material?) for the HUD as the canopy. It would also explain how there are scratches all over the HUD glass too, instead of just the canopy.

 

That might be causing the issue.

I have been sitting in a cold Harrier on the ground listening to the rain hitting the canopy... looking around being amazed....

 

Guess I'm not the only one.. ;-)

This may end up being a good bug then, hopefully they can remove the hud scratches along with the raindrops in one go.

Does anyone know which aircraft in particular received the effect? I didn't see anything about this in the change log.

I've checked which modules got raindrop effects with last update. Here is the list:

PS Wipers has no effect..

I've been playing around with rain in missions. Not only does the rain drops appear on the HUD but the HUD glass also becomes more transparent when the rain effect starts. It's nice to be able to see better through the glass now but obviously a bug.

I was testing raindrop in vr... i see raindrop , but really small drops and they dont move...

When i start dcs without vr, de raindrops are there like all the movies/picktures...

 

Do sombody else notise this?

Good thing is, once we add a few thrust it goes away, but take it the good way, your HUD will always be clean :P

Haven'T tried in non VR but got to say in VR it'S not that noticable, only tried in the Huey though

I tried in vr m2000c and av 8b...

 

than with the same setting i tried the av 8b non vr and that was a real diference,

in non vr in av 8b was a lot of raindrops

 

in vr its just only the blurines of rain without raindrops moving.

 

So i start to think its a bug.

I went through 7000lbs of fuel doing this...just sitting there....idle...kicked back my feet and just watched AI traffic going about doing their business. It makes it really nice that you can land the harrier vertically on just about any level surface and enjoy the views.

How do you get rain sounds on the canopy? i don't get any rain sound but on the mirage i do.
