Just to note:

I do NOT give permission for my work to be used in part or in full to complete another user's work.

This includes using aspects of my work that are not included within the core template:

Stencils, Markings, Logo's or any other form of custom art.

I've already had to call out 5 people now, and it's getting rather disappointing to have to resort to such measures.

In each Case I can verify that my work was used because:

A. I Place within all my Liveries an Invisible Watermark, Watermark still in other users texture.

B. Items/Markings in Question were Custom Made by Me, and match up to the other user's Texture Pixel For Pixel

C. Custom Stencils Match Pixel for Pixels

D. Stencils that were changed from one format and had a custom skew angle applied match Pixel for Pixel.

So Far I Have Completed the Following Liveries, which will be Available on May 30th:

21 Total, Public

32 Total, Private

To Install, Place folders in /Saved Games/DCS.<Install>/Liveries/FA-18C_hornet/

I have another 2 dozen in various stages, but I'm having to re-stencil the tail art from scratch, so it'll be a while, time right now is devoted to other things.

Nice liveries.

Skate, how do you load that static/placed/covered model into the ModelViewer?

/Config/ModelViewer/autoexec.lua

Paste the Following in the Bottom:

LoadModel("CoreMods/aircraft/FA-18C/Shapes/fa-18c.lods")
LoadLivery("FA-18C_hornet","VFA-151 XO")
SetArgument(0,1)
SetArgument(1,.5)
SetArgument(3,1)
SetArgument(4,.5)
SetArgument(5,1)
SetArgument(6,.5)
SetArgument(23,1.0)
SetArgument(24,1.0)
SetArgument(38,0.9)
SetArgument(95,1.0)

For:

LoadLivery("FA-18C_hornet","VFA-151 XO")

The Second Value is the Livery's Folder Name.

Would you consider doing a step by step guide for dummies on how to create a skin from start to finish? TC

Making a video on how to make skins is quite complex, it would be huge if you wanted to cover the main principles and tips.

But as a very young skin maker, the biggest tips I can give are; Learn how to use Photoshop tools and its shortcuts. Learning the shortcuts is essential, makes your workflow much better. And understand your template. Everything else is just experience. You won't get anywhere without trying.

Getting help to get started is important, but you gotta be interested in trying it out and learning.

Open Photoshop (or whatever you use) and try to paint a skin. It's FUN!

I'm new to photoshop but not to Elements which is the little brother but i do own both and if you can do a step by step and it can be done in Photoshop then it may take a little time but with a step by step shouldn't be very hard to follow. The guides they have in video form is not something you can read as you go. But if you can find time somewhere down the line it would be greatly appreciated by many on this fourm. Thanks TC

Hello Skatezilla,

would be nice when you can add the pilot name and the name from the mechanic.

Names and Locations were Intentionally Left off, for Respect of the individual(s).

Honestly, I dont see why other artists dont do it, If I dont have permission from that person to include their name and home town, I leave it off.

And instead of trying to run down all these people, I choose to leave personal items off the liveries.

Plus, if you're flying the livery, your obviously dont want someone elses name on the jet I would assume.

I just want my own name and call-sign on the VFA-103 skins.

I guess it's time to try to figure out how to make that happen...

One might also add:

SetArgument(116,1.0)
SetArgument(117,1.0)

To open the landing gear doors...

I just had the arguments set to see the engine covers etc, but yeah to open the doors, those are the ones needed, if you are editing the bay textures.
