DflippinK
i wonder why DCS has so much aliaising issues.... im content at 4k with msaax2... but man it should be way better...with no AA on it just looks like a stretched out low res jaggy festival... wondering if we are trying to optimize performance or trying really hard to polish a turd... i dont want that to be taken offensively... just wondering why at 4k.. without AA.. it looks like i am stretching a 1080p signal across my screen... the pixelation of the jaggies are seemingly massive.. the edges of everything look like they take their rendering queues from "ExciteBike".. why is this so prevalent in DCS and not in other games? I run rift without AA which is approximately like 800x600 monitor. DCS has aliasing issues because it tries to draw small things from far away. there's literally nothing you can do to fix it right now. God i love this game... and the GPU was hangin around 48-64% load with a few 75% spikes.. so far it was the least jaggies with the least load.. just a little bit soft... YoYo
When I look to front 75-85 fps, no fps problem (left, right the same), but when I look to back 32-36 (static planes on carrier?). Azazel
In the Hornet, I'm generally between 40-50 fps in the quick missions which is great considering my processor is about 8 years old now. It is dummy overclocked to 3.7 GHz. The sim is running very smooth: no stuttering. Some shimmer still. Looks great overall! YoYo
Turn off MSAA to activate FXAA nothing more. No, thx. I use FXAA and MSAA=2. Both complement each other, only FXAA looks poor for me. ouPhrontis
I've noticed that having shadows set (non-flat) even the Tarawa as well as the Nimitz class suffer from frame drops by around half, that go once airborne - most likely because LoD decreases and there's far less facet count to build shadows for.
