Rolds Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 Could we please have options to manually change the lights on/off status of airfields, FARPs, and ships? - For ships, en en route task or trigger dependent action so you could set their status in the mission editor. - For all, a radio command to ask to turn on runway lights. - For airfields, an ability to set runway lights on or off in the mission editor. The lights work well when it is night time but sometimes frustrate me during overcast or foggy conditions, for example today doing carrier traps on the carrier at 800 hours under overcast in 2 mile visibility. Would love to be able to request the ship lights in this case. Thanks! 14
fixedit Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 Is bumping this a thing? Some kind of lighting options I would think should be added. 1
upyr1 Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 It would also be nice to set black out conditions as well 3
hrnet940 Posted February 5, 2023 Posted February 5, 2023 I agree with those above. Requesting lights to be turned on should be an option. Enemy airfields would have their lights turned off so us/we, the good guys, can't find it easy and destroy it with THEIR help to find it. Just my opinion. hrnet940 A.K.A. DArt Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 It could be a great addition for LotAtc users to be able to switch on/off the lights on airports (and carrier as well). As I can access to mission script now, could it be possible to have an API to switch on/off the airports lights ? Thx. 5 [ https://www.lotatc.com ]
Dup Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 We're regularly organising night time or bad weather events on our server, and it's always a painful point to make airfield switch lights on and make the simulation more realistic and immersive... Having an API method to manage this would be a great new feature for sure ! Please do it ! 2
Tripack Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 please pause the new F/A-18 ejection animation for a few days to implement this useful little feature
mhe Posted May 9, 2023 Posted May 9, 2023 Yes please, I would also love to have DCS switch active runway in accordance with what is selected as the approach in LotATC. It would add so much to Multiplayer! Having full control over the lights would be the cherry on top! | i9 12900K | 64GB DDR5-6000 | STRIX RTX 4090 OC | LG 38GN950 38" | | Hanns-G HT225HPB | TIR 5 & Varjo Aero | Virpil Throttle & Stick | TM TPRs | You don't stop playing because you grow old, you grow old because you stop playing.
twistking Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 Bump. We also need control over "blackout" not only for airfields, but also cites/towns in the Normandy map. The only way to have any light on the map is to set the date to peacetime. More control is absolutely needed! fixedit Posted May 23, 2023 Posted May 23, 2023 Even something as simple as a zone you place in the ME. Unit emissions/Light emissions give the options to affect air, ground, runway or ship.
Micki66 Posted June 28, 2023 Posted June 28, 2023 Hello, And if we can have something like barrels on fire (no smoke), a car with lights (on/off), to put light on a strip of grass/bush. Thanks. 1
Mad_Shell Posted November 2, 2023 Posted November 2, 2023 bump! Ships, including carriers, often operate with almost all lights off at night irl to limit detection. As mentionned previously it would also be great to have ways to turn off cities and airfield lights, either with triggers, or by destroying power plants. 2

In one of the latest updates there where a new trigger where you can change the lightning of a supercarrier. The trigger is called "SET CARRIER LIGHTNING MODE" 2
DArt Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 Good to know! Same thing for airfields and it will be ok for me ! I will add a button in LotAtc to allow switch on/off lights on carrier! [ https://www.lotatc.com ]

Tarawa for example will not work.
Northstar98 Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 (edited) So far it seems to work as expected on CVNs 71-75 of the supercarrier module. The only thing is that "AC RECOVERY" has both the lights of the landing area and the orange flood lights illuminated (it would probably be better if we could separate these) and "OFF" still has lights illuminated. The LRLS is also on in all modes apart from "OFF". On the Forrestal, "NAVIGATION" has the lights of the landing area illuminated and "off" still has lights around the island illuminated. As buur said above the setting appears to have no effect on the Tarawa. Though for the Veinticinco de Mayo and Invincible it seems at least partially implemented (there's just no difference between "AC LAUNCH" and "AC RECOVERY", which may well be accurate for Invincible) With all that said, definitely an addition to be pleased about, though it would be nice if the same settings could be applied to every naval unit in the game (though obviously AC LAUNCH and AC RECOVERY won't be applicable to vessels without aviation facilities).
