Stop the music in mission editor

Hi,

I really like to have theme music on, but not when I am editing missions for hours :). Would be great to have an option to turn the music off in mission editor.

Sounds a good idea, but on the otehr side, the few times you plan on going in the MR for hours, you can just turn off the music for those sessions? Don'T ask them to modify to much of the game's core stuff, we'll ended up with weird sound behavior all over the game after for a few patches. ;)

Well as i said and Trev said, simply turn the slider down of the music in the options, less pain in the but than editing 1-2 OGG sound files.

theres a music volume slider in settings Audio tab. Just turn it off and run whatever you want in your music app of choice in the background whenever you want it.

Turning down the music volume is so obvious is that I'm sure OP knows about it. The goal is different (think what not how). The idea is to have a possibility to play the music by default, so every time you're in DCS just to play a mission then have the music playing.

However when while working on mission in a mission editor there should be a quick and easy way to have the music stopped. This could be a check box in the mission editor itself or a "play music in mission editor" option under audio tab. I'm sure ED could decide on the best.

Music in mission editor? That is definitely not a good idea. I realized that the first moment I started to work with messages and sounds. I would not miss any music in editor even when I don't work with sounds. It's reasonable to turn it off in the mission editor, I'm surprised this is even an issue.

Turning your PC audio off will definitely prevent you from hearing the music. Guaranteed. And since the ME really doesn’t have any audio, it would work just fine with the sound off.

…and also not hear the sounds you want to hear as you design your mission.

I generally mute the music in DCS and listen to youtube but if you want the music in DCS I say knock yourself out, it might be nice to have the button to mute it.

Have you tried ever making any kind of complex mission? Sound is indeed a large part of it.

Sure, point taken. There’s still already an audio setting to turn the music off.

So there is no reason not to make it make more sense.

@upyr1Yup, I ended up with music in DCS muted as well. I liked the intro music, but it's not a big deal really, everything else works fine - even in the editor.
