Vilhelm Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 The trim is too "wide" on LOMAC. It's impossible to trim it for level flight. It either gains altitude or looses altitude with one "click" on the trim (up or down). Is there a fix for this? Thanks, Vilhelm
Atomic978 Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 The best way I found for the trim to work in LO is with a rotary on the throttle of my X52. I set it as a axis in the ingame options and I set the shift to about half way. I set a small deadzone. I set the curve to about 3 to 4 notches to the right from the left. This is how I have mine set and it works pretty good for me. Floyd Posted May 12, 2007 Posted May 12, 2007 I toggle 'altitude hold' on and off to trim the plane - works in the fighters better (faster) than in the SU-25 or A-10.
VMFA-Blaze Posted May 12, 2007 Posted May 12, 2007 I just punch CTL+T to retrim.... With Russian birds this has to be done frequently.. But you're right about altitude hold, this woks quite well on long flights... Since I have TIR 4 I have freed up the stick hat switch and was trying to use this for trimming out...but so far I haven't been too successful... It seems when I start to try and set it up something else comes up.. But I think that trimming useing this method should give you the best results ... I should get around to it sooner or later.. :music_whistling: ~S~ Blaze intel Cor i7-6700K ASUS ROG MAX VIII Extreme G.Skill TridentZ Series 32 GB Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SATA II ASUS GTX 1080/DIRECTX 12 Windows 10 PRO Thrustmaster Warthog Oculus Rift VR
Vilhelm Posted May 15, 2007 Author Posted May 15, 2007 Thanks guys. Why can't they come out with a patch to fix this? Should be an easy fix.
Brutus Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 Does anyone know if the trim issue will be resolved with the release of Blackshark?
159th_Viper Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 Specifically referring to the T-Frog, I have mapped the Default 2-keypress input for trim to a Single Keypress and then programmed the relevant Keypress to a Hat-Switch and have no problems trimming for level flight. Might be a possible solution - however cannot guarantee results for other airframes :) Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? Black_Hawk Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 If you go to [LO Root]\Config and open contractor.cfg , open it with notepad and you'll see "Trimmer Gain", change it to a lower value if the default is too much for fine tuning :smilewink: 1 159th GAR LockOnFiles CAW Team
SUBS17 Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 Its not an issue. Its how the real a/c perform. Not really it appears over exagerated to me with some aircraft in LO. In F4 its the opposite its under done whats needed is a balance between the two. And using a wheel to trim is unrealistic for a combat jet but is good for sims like IL2. [sIGPIC] [/sIGPIC]
Brutus Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 Its not an issue. Its how the real a/c perform. Maybe it's not an issue as such then, only I feel that trimming the aircraft is not as intuitive as I imagined it to be. I also use the hat switch to trim and manage to get by ok. I fly the Russian jets almost exclusively and if this is how they are meant to fly then that's fine. Incidentally, I've noticed that the Russian aircraft have 'ТРИМ' marked on top of the stick, right above where the hat switch is located on most gaming sticks. Is this how the actual aircraft are trimmed then?

That's right way I searched to refine trimming. I've lowered it and tested: EXCELLENT!!! Finally I gently can trim my Cy-33 and have a fine flight without any overcontrol. Thanks again. PS Please, something about other datas in contractor.cfg? Best regards Antonio G.
