MilesD Posted April 12, 2019 Author Posted April 12, 2019 (edited) Well I lost the day because because my PC crashed today, I think I was able to recover most of the data. I am re-installing all my design and programming apps now. Here is the latest FCU design. I am stuck with the shape because of the LiPo battery. The new attachment and adjustment design works really well. It works like a buckle tensioning on itself. They really do look much better in person than the pics. The layer height will be finer on the production 3d prints. For better pics try taking some using natural light rather than a flash, flash is really terrible on shiny plastic objects, picks out every single layer of the print hehe. Fusedspine33 Posted April 12, 2019 Posted April 12, 2019 Miles, I can tell your a perfectionist and want to find ways to improve manufacturing process, speed, size and aesthetics with each batch, but we won’t see them after the HMD goes on. LOL  No, I would not of held things up for atheistics, I was not happy with the discrete steps of the finger adjustment. Now its infinitely adjustable which make it easier to get comfortable. I didn't want to end up like Steve Martin and the opti-grab in "The Jerk". Instead of facing a jury of my peers that were cross eyed, the jurors at my trial would all be missing their index fingers from lack of circulation caused by PointCTRL being to tight. MilesD Posted April 13, 2019 Author Posted April 13, 2019 I was just trying to be humorous. As was I, I guess I missed the mark. But you are right, I always think just a little more will make it better. I am trying to think of that saying, something like, the pursuit of perfection is the enemy of progress. Pirimeister Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 A quick question, if I may. I'm really interested in this device, but I would like to confirm where does the PointCrontrol tracker go? Is it on the Oculus itself? And it links with the PC via a USB cable, correct? I ask this because I have my setup facing away from the monitors, - with my back to them, to be precise- so if the tracker needs to be facing me, like TrackIr, I don't have anywhere to place it on. Thank you! Piri

Thank you! Piri Correct. The tracker goes ontop if whatever VR headset you have. So it should work fine with your setup. Los Posted April 14, 2019 Posted April 14, 2019 The tracker is molded to the specific headset (Vive or rift). And it comes with double side tape to affix the tracker to your headset. Los

There only a few units out to testers who have been providing feedback. I have gone through a few iterations of calibration methods based on their feedback, The general consensus was it was confusing. Los gave me a good idea last night that I added to Joe S's. Production is happening now and I am adding the final touches to the new calibration procedures today. I am off to NYC now to a viewing party for a Korean Television show. My daughters KPOP crew just got back from Soul and won an International dance competition. I will be back later tonight and hopefully have things locked in so I can start shipping next week. I only have mounts completed for the Rift, Vive, and Vive Pro. The PCB can be removed and put in other mounts as they become available. Just Look at FireCats list to see where you are, and we will post "now boarding up to row 50, etc. Miles Now shipping up to website Pre-Order Form date 2022/11/15 Pre-Order Form Submission https://pointctrl.com/preorder-form/ PointCTRL Support Discord https://discord.gg/jH5FktJ PintCTRL Website https://pointctrl.com/
