Alpenwolf Posted May 3, 2019 Author Posted May 3, 2019 how did we end up asking for a Mig 27 in an SU -17 post? LOL Well, the need for a Re striker is the reason, I guess :smilewink: Both are great! And I would love to see both! HACA DYCA Discord Cold War 1947 - 1991 You can help me with keeping up the server via PayPal donations: hokumyounis@yahoo.com

DeathAngel1 Posted June 29, 2019 Posted June 29, 2019 Is there any good su-17/22 mod for 2.5.5? ..:NAVY PILOTS ARE THE THE BEST PILOTS:..
Xilon_x Posted June 29, 2019 Posted June 29, 2019 seems obvious to me. in all the marine forces of the world the pilots of the navy are the best they receive a completely different training from the training of the normal pilots. Making a landing on an aircraft carrier with poor visibility extreme weather conditions and at night is not for everyone.

Actually this is relative what you consider a good pilot. Overall this idea is a misconception. The time spent learning to operate from carriers is less time spent training to use the aircraft for combat related stuff be it bfm or other, because both usaf and usn pilots get comparable flight hours per year on average. So being able to land on a carrier isnt going to make a navy pilot better at warfighting Edited July 2, 2019 by Kev2go Build: Windows 10 64 bit Pro Case/Tower: Corsair Graphite 760tm ,Asus Strix Z790 Motherboard, Intel Core i7 12700k ,Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 64gb ram (3600 mhz) , (Asus strix oc edition) Nvidia RTX 3080 12gb , Evga g2 850 watt psu, Hardrives ; Samsung 970 EVo, , Samsung evo 860 pro 1 TB SSD, Samsung evo 850 pro 1TB SSD, WD 1TB HDD
Alpenwolf Posted July 2, 2019 Author Posted July 2, 2019 ... So being able to land on a carrier isnt going to make a navy pilot better at warfighting Of course not. It makes him better at landing a jet on a short runway, is all. Controlling the plane more precisely than those who land on a runway. Didn't mean anything about combat abilities. Harlikwin Posted August 20, 2019 Posted August 20, 2019 Also, there is a modder that is considering making one, though he may be out of his depth. But with some community support who knows. vanir Posted September 21, 2019 Posted September 21, 2019 A provisional NATO-coalition membership requirement for ex soviet satellites like Poland, etc. still operating their old soviet equipment is to "westernize" them with equipment updates, mainly navigationally related in aircraft but includes a whole bunch of things so that they can operate in coordination with NATO (or current equivalent) forces in any conflict of which they may become a part. Georgia, for example was refused membership on this basis when they asked for help in the late 90s after the cruiser Moscow fired missiles at Georgian land targets, because they didn't have the money to accommodate the requirements. So whenever you see western friendly Russian equipment operators like in the Czech Republic they have equipment updates or installations to suit western operations, or are forced to turn over their Russian equipment to the United States for scrapping or testing, like Bulgaria was.
