Yea it was on the very edge of the MiG-29S operational range, but that made it much more interesting. Unfortunately this isn't an ideal environment for merges as fuel consumption skyrockets in those, but I don't think merges are impossible if both aircraft take off simultaneously. This was, in my opinion, the main factor why the match looked boring. I'd like to see this event again under same rules but with both aircraft taking off simultaneously. Also F-15C vs J-11 with the same airfields would be awesome. That way I'm guess we'd see more merges and creeping, and less BVR.
