zaelu Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 Seriously! Get Free Advertising by creating some sort of benchmark based on a well thought track/mission (make it stable obviously) and get some attention from press and gamers that are interested in hardware testing too. Make it as a single button in the menu: BENCHMARK! Give it few settings if you want later... but make it idiot proof. Heck... make it based on Model Viewer 2 if you want it external and compact. It's really sad to know a game that burns any hardware (DCS World) but still watch silly 4pfs so called benchmarks online to make an impression if some hardware would be useful or not for DCS. Make it cause it is win win. Svsmokey Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 (edited) Agree ! This would be most helpful , and simple to implement . A common track of the existing SU-25 free-flight mission on the Caucasus map would be invaluable for comparing settings and hardware . SharpeXB Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 Do tracks have the same performance as live gameplay? I suspect that live AI and FM add more load than a recorded track. I tested this myself once but I can’t remember the result. i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5

I tested this myself once but I can’t remember the result. As track is essentially control input recording , it amounts to the same as live flight . draconus Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 It's not that easy as far as tracks are not reliable. You would get different results each time you run it. Not much of a good benchmark it would be. But if it's short enough and doesn't rely on hitting anything it could work. tom_19d Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 +1 Yes please, a way to make a true comparison where the only variable is either the system or the settings would be great.
