Very clean. I recently bought the playseat and was less than thrilled to find out after assembly I would have to modify it to get the joystick work. I was kind of in a rush because I wanted to have a chance to fly with my son while he was out for Christmas break.

I cheaped out and went with wood and pvc to get it to work, Overall I like it mainly because of the small footprint, I'm considering buying another playseat to replace my main rig as that thing is huge.

And yes as far as the cutout in the seat that's already there. That is where the "pole" for your wheel mount slides into.

I did almost the exact same thing with mine =) I'm using an 8'' extension though, so it's mounted slightly lower than yours, but same idea. Crossbeam and a protruding plate =)

Anyone using one in stock form ? Maybe using center wheel post for keyboard and MFD's ?

I cut out a piece of 1/8 inch sheet steel (5" x 14") and used U bolts to secure it to the cross bars on the bottom of the seat. At first I just mounted the joystick to the plate, but that was too low. So, I mounted 4" floor flanges and a 4" length of pipe. The hardest part is aligning and drilling out the holes in the flange to fit just right. I had to file some holes for better alignment. I also used a counter sink to make it possible to use the original joystick screws on the flange. All cuts and holes were made with good power tools. Dremel Saw Max and Milwaukee 1/2" drill...Oh the power!!!

I modified mine slightly by bolting it to a platform and adding a seat slider to adjust the fore and aft distance to the stick and pedals. My stick is mounted on its own base on the platform.
