Opened the DDS Texture files and they appear black. If I could make them appear right, then I could convert them 50% resolution.

I second to that. There should be lower resolution option. I am playing DCS mainly in VR and there is significant performance hit while in cocpit. I hope that Heatblur make lower resolution option for us to increase fps while flying this great aircraft. I have i7 4770k OC to 4.3 and 1080Ti.

Edit: Ok my mistake, after deleting shaders chache everything is back to normal. Performance is like in F18.

Guys my pc is struggling as well. But to be honest i have to upgrade.

I dont think it should hold devs back to push for more realistic products because some pc's fall behind.

If they can make an option oke great. If not start saving up.

Something that is your hobby and your passion cost money so i think its worth it. If i have to choose between graphical quality or performance i will always choose graphical quality.

Your GPU has 11GB of VRAM. Texture resolution is not the cause of your problems.

Agreed. Texture resolution usually does not impact FPS much at all, only uses more VRAM/RAM on High.
