By far the hardest for me to fly. the crazy capability of the plane gets me in trouble.... I'm doing what I usually do and just yank on the stick to get on a plane's 6 thinking, i'll either stall and slide in, or have my g limiter stop me from over-g. nope... instant blackout with missing wings. DAMN ITTTTTT

This one is going to take patience and lots of learning.

The radar and jester confuse me too... he loses lock pretty often, and I have no idea when he reacquired. then in visual range he kept telling me where the plane was and I couldn't see it :megalol:

I'm going to have a tough one with this one.

BUTTTTTT

what a beauty! She's going to keep me busy for hours... we need chuck's guide!

ps. can we toggle the control stick? I can't see the display there!

I'm so glad I put in time in the MiG-21. I feel like the preparation done in that plane made the transition to the F-14B easier that it otherwise might have been.

If you screw up though, it can bite hard and quick ... got in an inverted flat spin fighting an F-5, managed to recover ... but whoa!

Also found Jester loses lock a lot but I assume that's because I'm not telling him to do the right things yet.

Lol sorry... Typical hamfister!!

Yank and bank.. the f-15 .. you can't just pull the stick.its recommended half stick.

All planes give buffeting cues.. but only the 14 has it modeled

We won't be getting a chucks guide, but the HB manual is pretty insane.

Why no chuck guide? I love those

It's not nearly as difficult as I thought it was going to be. I got used to balancing the stick and rudder through turns fairly easily.

The only problem I'm having is wrestling with the throttle. The engines are so powerful that I find myself accelerating without meaning to.

Can't pretend fly as well as you can.

It´s very complex, but manageable.

Hoping that FFB gets implemented, it made a night-and-day difference for intuitively flying WWII aircraft and being able to actually *feel* how much pressure you're applying in a given flight regime, instead of having to remind yourself over and over that even though you can yank the stick (with its never-changing spring tension) you shouldn't.

Yep I have ripped the wings off a few times in BFM, but my god the performance on this thing makes the F-18 feel positively anaemic.

Getting used to Jester - need to create a voice attack profile for some of the more common commands particularly in combat I think.

Overall, I think I am in love.

Yep, I tried some BFM last night in VR. I kept getting into flat spins. I had to stop and take a rest because I was getting sick.

I do love it though.

Ha I had the same experience. Glad it’s not just me

Very interesting... What about all the other stuff? I'll go search for it.

Yeah, really need to work that rudder, which I use race pedals for lol...

I barely had time to play last night. I was trying to just get the PLM working which wasn't working that well on the AA guns mission. it says 5 miles... but it was more like 1 mile for me on that giant IL-76 or whatever.

with not having full control of radar for ACM and no advanced ACM modes and no advanced HUD, i might have to resort to lables which I really hate using.

Hopefully I can get some flying next week to see how she sustains in a dogfight. I def know I can't just yank on the stick to get behind the enemy now. I have to learn to understand the plane shaking...

Like I said, this is going to be a hard plane to figure out for me. It will be rewarding in the end, but I think I'll have better luck with the F18 in dogfights, or even bombing. Time will tell

I'm loving the fact that it's hard. Takes me back to when I was trying to learn how to fly the Huey. The Hornet was too easy to fly.

I'm really having a hard time with Jester acquiring lock.

He's like, TARGET DEAD AHEAD 20MILES

Ok, LOCK IT

Sorry no can do!

I have the same problem, and I can't get jester to launch any Aim54, and I cannot figure out how to lock the bandit up myself and launch the phoenix myself. By the time Jester calls out bandit at 7 when in a fight I already have the bandit at 11 so jester for me is great for waypoint, radio tuning, BVR spotting, Startup and setting up ground attack waypoint and thats about it..

Update... Yeah I figured out how to get Jester to lock on the bandit and I got the phoenix to launch and hit.
