Guess they have gone for FOV over reliability. Wonder if the pilot gets zapped when it's at it max points and electronically scanning?

Or maybe you could phrase it "survivability over reliability".

If you've got +/- 120 degrees scanning ability, you can be flying ( ~30 degrees) away from the target & still be locked on them (guiding).

They're flying towards your missile, you're flying away from theirs, (at the same range they're using low PRF, you're using high?).

Cheers.

Sure as long as your not planning to have kids anytime soon. I'm assuming you'll get another +/-60 degrees of electronic scanning ontop of the 60 of mechanical. That would put the pilots testicles firmly in the sidelobs

Or maybe the beam doesn't form until a few meters out.

No... when you are that close to the transmitter it doesn't matter if it's "pointed" at you or not

btw, I've heard that a Russian businessman was interested in buying a B-52 :D

edit: oh, there's a topic about it... :D

Never forget that World War III was not Cold for most of us.

Maybe they wear knitted copper wire underwear - their own personal farraday's cage (like the guys who work on the live transmission gear in the states)

Cheers.

Hi guys!!!

It's over. It was a wonderful experience. Entire Moscow is a beautiful city and I really had some fun at MAKS 2007. I even played Black Shark in Multimedia center.

Comments?!!

Well, the rig that was used for BS is very poor (Single core CPU) but FPS was good - better than I expected. My rig back home ain't much but it's better than this one so I hope I won't have many problems with running BS.

I'm not sure if I can say more on BS, perhaps it forbidden, but if you ask some questions considering my experience I'll be willing to answer!

I'm in some net caffe here in Moscow that's closing as I write. It's midnight here! I'm not able to upload any pics I took ATM but I'll be back home in Zagreb, Croatia on tuesday 28th and I'll post my pics and videos ASAP.

Cheers peeps!

You can say everything about your own BS experience, as it was public exibition.

Not much. It's a big, loud exhibit, where there is hardly a chance (or desire) for an in-depth analysis. People mostly sat in, took the chopper for a spin, attempted a landing, etc. Most never even fired a weapon, as that would require numerous cockpit operations they were not familiar with. I'm not even sure whether the game was displayed with all realistic settings enabled or not.

Looking forward to your comments, Vekkinho.

There were two missions to try - one with realistic settings, and one with simplified.
