Maybe stupid question....

The A10 bas a loud tutututututwhen ther is a master alert.

The F18 has that liddel "diddeldut" when Master goes on.

But what about F14? When i start the Maschine or get some damage, the Master Alert start to flash but i hear nothing.

Is that the way how the F14 works or us there a volume knop to turn it on?

Master Caution in the F-14 is mostly there to confirm your suspicions that something is wrong with the airplane, whereas later aircraft feel the need to tell you there's something wrong with them- as though you couldn't figure it out already. You're expected to aviate in the former, diagnose in the latter.

I never even bothered to clear those since the button stays in all the time... so I'm rather glad it doesn't make phoney noises all the time rdlaugh.png

I assume similarly the bingo fuel and such audibles don't exist (as i've starved the cat a few times into the ocean so far).

Would be neat if Jester went ahead and mentioned them though... as i think thats part of their job?

Something simple like hey check that caution. Or were running on fumes...

It’s refres to not have bitching Betty in your ear. The tomcat is nice and quiet you just gotta watch the gauges yourself like a good pilot should.

Back in the days of aviation design when you had to pay attention...all these systems, gauges, buttons and switches - and the only sound it made was when it was on fire!

Yes it was very easy to miss something going wrong if you weren't paying attention.

F-5 doesnt make a peep either. You get used to it pretty quick, and its a lot less stressful when the shit really hit the fan :).

It goes bang.

The volume increases depending on the severity of the caution. They also work like the RWR in that the sound generally tends to come from what it causing the master caution.

There may or may not be warning 'lights', either case could be cause for concern.
