Difficulty seeing lighting/Warning lights

Anyone have trouble seeing the HUD, warning lights under certain lighting conditions or when the sun is behind you?

 

I also can't make out the warning lights in the bank by the right knee. Not sure if there is a resolution/ graphical thing I need to do to make the words pop out.

 

I tried to use zoom, but it's really disorienting/nauseating so I prefer not to use it.

I have trouble many times as well, depending on the lighting conditions.

 

1440p with 27" monitor, max graphics settings

 

There have been other posts about this since release and I think it was determined to be realistic.

Yep - they just go white. Same with the Master Caution and Fire warning lights - but they are fully white all the time? Next to impossible to notice a Master Caution.

 

I also see Jester has some comms saying master caution - but I have never heard them?

I am a bit disappointed by HB choice to make such dirty/worn cockpit , not to mention of course the difficulty to read the lights , labels and instrument.

 

 

Is there any change we'll get a "clean" cockpit version one day?

This is also a good one. Cautions ect. are basically redrawn so they stand out. I'm all for a worn cockpit, as it's realistic to military aviation in general. Problem with the tomcat is they went so far that the cockpit is basically unusable as is. It's a shame we have to use mods that don't pass integrity check just to read what cautions are lit, or figure out which switch does what.

The hot trigger warning light not being easy to see is the bane of my existence some days.

 

Perhaps adding a selectable tinted visor to the helmet would be helpful.

I have this problem too. I created a mission to help me with BFM. In the middle of the quarrel I run out of fuel. Didnt see the warning light at all, nothing from J-man. (Would be nice if he says something about bingo light) Just the unmistakable silence of fuel exhaustion. :)

I do not like or understand Heatblur's approach to how they artistically represented the interior of the Tomcat.

 

Take the sounds for example...they are amplified and overdone to add to immersion and compensate for the lack of feel with this being a simulator.

 

I wish the same would have been done with the interior visuals as well.

 

Now don't get me wrong...Heatblur's work is absolutely incredible, but in some ways, does not translate well to a desktop monitor.

Thanks dudes! That's my mod you're linking too, nice to know it's doing some good :thumbup:

 

As it happens I've literally just updated the mod to v0.3 - Did some work on all the primary flight instruments and gauges in the pilot pit. Tested in my Rift and their all markedly more readable now too! Every little helps! If you wanted more info the thread's here

 

On the subject of integrity checks - A MP compliant version is coming. The issues with the Saved Games custom cockpit feature has been reported and acknowledged by HB as an issue in the bug section, so it's on their radar.
