I guess it would happen most prominently when the carrier is going fast into the wind, giving the maximum amount of headwind over the deck. Nealius Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 Does this happen all the time or does it depend on weather conditions? As long as the carrier is moving it happens, AFAIK. The particular strength of the burble depends on the shape of the island superstructure itself.

TimRobertsen Posted January 25, 2021 Posted January 25, 2021 A little late to the conversation, but According to F/A-18 pilots, the burble is most pronounced when there is little to no headwind, and the carrier is running at higher speed to compensate for the lack of headwind.
