Hello!

There was a thread about this but it got flooded with comments, so I didnt found an answer.

Is it possible to get an Air to Air Refuel Cheat?

Activated by a key command when flying near the tanker.

I DONT WANT TO OFFEND ANY PEOPLE TRAINED IN A2A REFUELING NOR DO I TRIE TO CHANGE DCS WORLD INTO AN ARCADE GAME - I KNOW IT IS A SIMULATOR!

(And it still would be an simulator, even with such a function)

I dont write this thread to get hints and tipps for A2A refueling!

For me it is just the lack of time. I dont have the time to train hundrets of hours for refueling, like realword pilots do.

Thank you

I think this would be a great option to have.

I don't have much time to fly either, and the fact that at the moment I can't reliably refuel even under good conditions severely limits the missions I can fly. I mostly manage to get fuel, but getting a full tank usually takes me so long that I run out of the aforementioned precious time.

That said, I wouldn't use such a feature/cheat, but I understand people who would.

Possible, sure.

Likely, not very.

While AAR is pretty unrealistic at the moment, chances are that improvements will come in the form of making the AI work(ish) and improving the physics involved, rather than having it be automated.

Normally I would say the following comment was just trite, but if ever there was a moment for it, it's now:

Well, there's always the 'Unlimited Fuel' cheat that could help you out, but what the hell. ED, give the people what they ask for!

For real though, practice practice practice. AAR is one of the most satisfying things in the game, and you don't need to spend hundreds of hours, I'd say 10-15 depending on what you're trying to tank (Hornet is the easiest IMHO, Harrier less so, Hawg somewhere in the middle). One of the best tips I've heard in lurking these forums is to take advantage of slow-motion (LAlt+Z I think). Slow time down to 1/2 or 1/4 and try to get a feel for how you need to slowly feed inputs in pitch/roll/throttle. Then try it at normal speed and it just might click. Good luck!

Yeah you could select unlimited fuel. Also I notice most missions don’t include it as a requirement.

My experience mastering it I’d say took maybe two weeks of solid practice. It’s not easy and hard to justify when it’s not really required in most campaigns etc.

No. I am absolutely not, and you are not the person who can judge this. If you are not able to bring something useful into an normal discussion, just stay away.

I don’t know why I never thought of that. Slow it down:thumbup: I’m going to try this. It’s really strange. I can tank first try 90% of the time with the Harrier. It’s easy for me. With the Hornet, I can’t do it. I plug for a few seconds and then overcorrect. I’m excited to try this to get the proper feel for inputs with the Hornet.

Welcome to public internet forums. You posted, I replied. Just because it's not what you wanted to hear doesn't make it not ''useful normal discussion''. Humor, you should find some. Also, the echo chamber is down the hall on the right. Public forums tend to invite dissenting views. Otherwise what you want is a ''blog''.

Oh, if you've got time to learn a plane with a 600pg manual, you've probably got time to learn to tank properly.

I would like an easy refuel option to use if you want to.

Unlimited fuel doesn't help in MP, and to be the one in the squadron that didn't get it done simply sucks.

Sometimes if you have a bad day and can't get it done but you're always into the mission a simple refuel option would be awesome.

Something like a option in the Comms menu. You have to get yourself into precontact position and than you can choose in the comms 3.(Auto-Refuel) or so. The Plane goes into Contact and refuel than control goes back to you.

Still I also haven't the time to practice like I should.

Unlike others I use the time if I can't end a full mission just to bomb stuff or test out. AAR isn't on that Plan.

And for all simpit and full-time simulators, I wouldn't even hurt them because they can still do it like it is now.

+1

Edit: End after the X time easy refuel, I would still try do learn and do it myself.

You come here and say people what games they should play and how they use there time... You got a funny sense of humor. As I am on the way to the echo chamber, come with me, I have read the manual and can show you how it works.

For all others, thanks for your opinions. Good to hear that there are people also thinking about this. It may never come, but it is important that we talk about such things.
