John Cool Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Photo of overhauled and upgraded Turkmenistani Su-25KM "Skorpion" board no. 47M, one of the first Su-25KM "Skorpion" delivered to the Turkmenistan Air Force at 27th October 2004. This probably makes "Skorpion" the only upgraded Frogfoot which has been sold abroad, making the Turkmenistan Air Force the first customer for the new variant. What is more, Georgia had already overhauled near 43 standard Su-25s for Turkmenistan AF as a payment for Georgian debts for the supply of gas. 2 МАССАНДРА: "Микоян Артём Славный Сын Армянского Народа Дарит Радость Авиаторам".

Pilotasso Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Unthinkable just some years back... Infact if you traveled back in time with that photo on your pocket, there would be a nuclear war the next day. :) .
Alfa Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Well maybe a few decades back. But there has actually been a lot of visits like this since the cold war ended. JJ

Lucas_From_Hell Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Everyone is going for it now. It's taken the place of lots of OV-10s and A-37s in S. America, and will probably take some more in the following years. In addition to that, the U. S. Navy is testing one aircraft for their Imminent Fury project. It's the perfect aircraft for the role - top-shelf avionics, very agile, good loitering capabilities, armoured cockpit (removable for peacetime missions), datalink, reasonable A2A capabilities, very friendly costs for both acquisition and operation... Some pictures showing all the different paintschemes used by this great little plane :) "American womaaan..." Ecuador Colombia's stylish shark-mouth Chile Dominican Republic also bites hard And my personal favourite :D Bad... bad to the bone :gun_smilie:
Lucas_From_Hell Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 A couple of extra shots... Not mine, I found them here  "We have fun and games" I just can't get tired of this cockpit :D I think the skinner put a bit too much weathering on this one :music_whistling: The Army decided to play as well Our fat guy Not even the Navy could resist... Not an aviation one, but a rather interesting fortress. The largest one built by the Portuguese outside Portugal
Lucas_From_Hell Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Cool formation :) Here comes the Cavalry :D
Lucas_From_Hell Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 No higher resolution available, but a couple of interesting shots, nonetheless The story of our last F-5B's Then... And now... The hangar in the background was nicknamed the "Zeppelin Hangar". It now houses the fighter squadrons operating from Santa Cruz, in the oustkirts of Rio de Janeiro. At MUSAL, Aerospatial Museum. Related to that, some interesting footage, even if you can't get a single word.
