Vortex ring state happens in a hover with little to no forward speed and not with that much forward airspeed.

 

First tail boom strike at 25 and second at 28-29 on that ridge as he tried to pull up causing the tail boom separation.:joystick:

 

The rest was inevitable:doh:

He's at high altitude, which means less lift, which means he should have climbed higher for the maneuver he performed. That's all there is to it. Small pilot error, with big results.

 

Lets start analyzing..

He came in too fast, probably a show off, and he lost his tail after the initial bump on the ground. I thought he entered vortex ring in the first part where he was directly atop the cameraman.

I've seen it before and I wondered why the need of torpedo-type launch. Now I stopped wonder - the damn thing set the sea on fire! I can imagine what it could do the ship that dares to launch it :D

That and it saves a lot of space - vertical launch systems are huge and dangerous. There's a lot that can go wrong with this launch method simply because there's more involved with it, but if something goes wrong it goes wrong somewhere besides on the boat.

Another point is that it allows delivery of nuclear warheads onto land targets from any submarine that has a torpedo tube... :)

Seriously though, I guess it does make more sense in that regard, I didn't know it was actually a 'regular' submarine-launched missile co-opted into a shipboard role.

Primarily an anti-sub missile carrying a nuclear depth-charge where applicable. That's effin' scary if you are a tubie.........

Is there any reliable site describing the declassified details between it, the SU-35, the Su-27SM and the others?

 

I have found none, maybe some Russian forum mate can tell us something more.

F-22 upgrades on the way

 

The unit's flagship, tail number 4115, is the first aircraft to be equipped with the modifications, which add a synthetic aperture radar (SAR) capability, electronic attack, better geo-location capabilities to find enemy radars, and the ability to carry eight 113kg (250lb) GBU-39 small diameter bombs (SDB).
