Griffin Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Passenger plane down in Siberia The safety culture doesn't look too great in that company...

Alfa Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Could someone explain to me, who in his right mind lets 80 y.o. drive a car, let alone fly a plane?! What - first too young and now too old? JJ
Vekkinho Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Could someone explain to me, who in his right mind lets 80 y.o. drive a car, let alone fly a plane?! The doctor! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
RvETito Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Mi-8 kicking some a$$ 2 "See, to me that's a stupid instrument. It tells what your angle of attack is. If you don't know you shouldn't be flying." - Chuck Yeager, from the back seat of F-15D at age 89. =RvE=
chaos Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Ria Novosti said the pilot opted not to de-ice at all. Fail pilot. Ah, I see... you're an expert. Send your accident rep. to the russian aviation authorities and save them the time... What did you expect? The accident happened East of the Oder river And BTW, have you guys noted age of the both pilots? Ah!... another expert! I guess I (and thousands of passengers) escaped certain death when I was that young. IDIOTS... 2 "It's not the years, honey. It's the mileage..."
weasel75 Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Mi-8 kicking some a$$ Pah, totally fake, everboy knows: it is aerodynamically impossible for a Mi-8 to fly. Oh wait, that was the bumblebee! Thanks for the link, this truly was an impressive clip! (for the impatient ones :joystick: - takeoff is around 1:35) basic for translators ...
mikoyan Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Pah, totally fake, everboy knows: it is aerodynamically impossible for a Mi-8 to fly. Oh wait, that was the bumblebee! Thanks for the link, this truly was an impressive clip! (for the impatient ones :joystick: - takeoff is around 1:35) Is it safe to do those tricks around other aircraft using the taxi way?
topol-m Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Mi-8 kicking some a$$ Awesome! Never seen anyone doing that in DCS: Black Shark ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Demokrator Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Notice how pilot voice changing when aircraft starts to descend.
weasel75 Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Notice how pilot voice changing when aircraft starts to descend. That's scary and could have ended so totally different :noexpression: basic for translators ...
Demokrator Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 That's scary and could have ended so totally different :noexpression: Yeah... Another great one, this time "Loss of orientation in the clouds"
leafer Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 I understand he went into cloud but what happened exactly? He's rolling meaning he's not sure of his plane attitude and how did the tower know to tell him what to do? ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
aaron886 Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Spin in IMC. (Probably no more "rolling" than a spin is rolling.) Good on the FSS guy for picking up on the signs right away... there are other similar stories of air traffic controllers making the same diagnosis but without lucky results.
Bucic Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 What - first too young and now too old? Yes. The doctor! Actually the doctor only evaluates that health state complies with current rules. The rules come from polititians / boards. Ah, I see... you're an expert. Send your accident rep. to the russian aviation authorities and save them the time... Read my statements as: "I wouldn't be surprised if.... Not as claims that I know the actual cause of the accident. I speak in general. And in general you don't need to be an expert to know that flight safety culture in this part of the world, I accidentally live in, is poor.
