In other cases, if at all possible, they might be able to help enhance a 3rd party mod by adding/fixing lua exports.

this would be great

have a better modability will help us to make new mods :)

and when i see all those new "aircrafts" mods (3GO, Tomcatz, VNAO, VEAO, AdA Mod etc), improve the "humancokcpit yes/no" system to remove the rocket style should be really great :)

selection of an existing FM instead of basic Su27 FM should be perfect IMHO :music_whistling:

(example : a F117 with A10 cockpit & FM without replacing the A10, we[me ^^] are accustomed to make/have compromises with mods ^^)

have a system that able serve-side MEinit to temporary replace the client-side MEinit (for online compatibility)

(example : client have F16 flyable with Mig29 FM and server with F15 => client on server will have F16 with F15 FM)

IMHO, should be a second life for LO while waiting for DCS modules ;)

Ideally we get some major balancing fixes if ED has got the correct info on it. I'm totally fine however if they just fix stuff on the back-end.

Improve the code for better FPS

Add static objects for the MP-Log (for stats)

Fix the Kuznetsov spawning issues (only load into one spot on the deck)

Export multiplayer chat (so we can get something similar to Servman but for LO.

Copy and Paste in the editor? I'd ship a free hug to which ever programmer figures that one out :D

Talk to Mugatu, Yoda and anyone else who has done some of the stats creation/backend mods to allow them to keep improving on what they have created.

I hope someone mentioned this before:

1) tilt view along the pitch and roll with TIR

2) making smoke pods active when wheels touch the ground!

3) ramp start option: Cold start from Hangar and Ramp start from parking area!

I would also like that multiple EWR placed on map work... right now you can have only 1 EWR working from one country. Also can GCI "comms" work as AWACS and when asking for heading on bandits they reply? This would be good for MiG-29A not presenting datalink.

1-fix the su-33 wings

2-add the emergency military power for the russian jets (I think that the su-33 has that feature)

3- fix engine power at high altitude

4-If the f-15 radar and missiles get improved, don't forget to add all the features missing on the russian birds too.

5-if I put the ventral fuel tank on the mig-29 I should not be able to use the gun right?(I'm not sure about this one though)

If it is possible AFM FOR ALL THE JETS PLZ!!!!!

mp_log fixes

I would like to see the following fixed:

1) If the mp_log recorded when a player was airborne (don't display this in multiplayer) then calculaing flight times would be much easier than the guesswork at the moment.

2) The debrief screen information is more detailed than the mp_log. It would be nice to have this extra information in the mp_log (in addition to the info in the mp_log that isn't in the debrief screen).

3) When a player is killed by a SAM it should be recorded in the mp_log rather than just 'crash'. (see Wish 2)

4) The recording of players entering and leaving the mission in the mp_log is very, very unreliable. It would be great if this was made consistent.

5) Players should not be able to join a multiplayer server if they have not set a callsign, or have set it to unprintable characters.

6) At the moment callsigns may be Cyrllic, but these are not written correctly to the mp_log. Maybe the mp_log should be UTF-8.

7) Players can die from launching missiles that hit their own flares and chaff. This should be fixed (they come out different ends of the aircraft yeah?). Maybe a missile can't be affected by chaff or flare within 50m of the launch point.

8) Missile smoke should *always* be visible at launch, and from quite a distance. I believe a low-smoke missile means the missile has a short burn (high specific impulse engine). At the moment some missiles are not visible at launch (which is rubbish).

9) MiG-29 engines are relatively smokey (as are older aircraft). They should should have a semi-transparent smoke trail (similar to if they were contrailing).

10) Please document the mission file format (for LockOn and DCS) so a dynamic campaign engine is possible. At the moment I'm having to reverse-engineer the non-XML portions of the format and it is a complete bugger. Ideally I'd just be working directly on the dynamic campaign. Your mission format would ideally be XML only.

I'm not sure if a user-made mod could fix this.... but after playing some Black Shark I've become quite fond of the length and time of the fire coming from a recently destroyed vehicle. Case in point, I was doing some CAS in the 25t the other night, by the time I got lined up on the next target run for my vikhers, the fire was already gone and I had trouble locating the targets.

I believe that the MiG 29 is able to use lower grade fuel (which causes the smoke) as a cheap alternative to pure jet fuel, in times of economising this makes sense but I can't imagine it doing the engines much good.

Also, I think alot of Mig-29 users "tune" their engines down in peace time to save on maintenance. This causes alot of smoke. In war time they get tuned back up and produce less smoke.

Anyone can fill in with better knowledge on this?

I think it's just the fuel. A lot of countries detune their engines in peacetime.

The F-15A/C-1 has performance charts for detuned, normal, and oversped modes of operation for example.

I dunno if this was mentioned before but the A-10's Master Arm switch function is not working.

Even after pressing alt + space, the munitions will still launch.

it works for eagle though, even if the switch doesnt physically/graphically move :)

S = SPARSE(m,n) abbreviates SPARSE([],[],[],m,n,0). This generates the ultimate sparse matrix, an m-by-n all zero matrix. - Matlab help on 'sparse'

I believe they detune them because the MiG-29 engines have quite a short effective life without it, and aircraft engines are not cheap. Other aircraft don't need this as much as their engines are designed for longer lives even at full rated power (which also makes them much more expensive to produce and maintain).

That is interesting about the short chamber causing the smoke. I guess with a short chamber there is not enough time for full combustion, which causes smoke. The F4 was also a notorious smoker and they were easily spotted by their smoke trail on mil power.

I thought this would be a realistic suggestion for the MiG-29 (and very easy for ED to implement given the have contrail code already).

Can someone explain the difference between a patch and an add-on... cause half of the people replying in this thread don't seem to think there is any...

Yup, i know it works for the eagle, but in my case it didn't work for the hog. and i tried it in a fresh install situation :)

Ironic, the F-15 doesn't have an animated "master arm switch" but "alt+space" can put your weapons system to safe. otoh the A-10 has an "animated Master arm switch" but it doesn't work

Patch: is to fix some coding errors in the sim..

add-on: is usually like adding new planes/ships/vehicles to the sim

The following situation ought to be fixed:

1) Player is damaged by enemy aircraft but still flyable.

2) Lands at friendly base and repairs

3) Later crashes. The plane is then recorded as killed by the enemy who damaged them.

This should not happen. When your aircraft has 'repaired' any previous damage information about it should be removed.

If possible, I would also like to see in arming screen ability to chose amount of chaff/flares and like Bobero said, maybe be able to change loadout while at base and not need to change aircraft (but I assume this would require lot more coding?)

Outstanding suggestion Bob. Payload change at airfield would be fantastic.

I heard the next patch is coming, so I wrote down all issues I can remember right now. I hope these are fixed.

EARLY WARNING RADAR:

- EW radar detects all aircraft at same range no matter what size they are.

AWACS:

- AWACS tells "Hot" or "Cold" based on the bandit's closure rate. This should be based on its heading.

US AIRCRAFT:

- The heading bug on the HUD shows wrong direction when there is north direction between the aircraft heading and the waypoint direction.

- The actual gun rate does not change between high and low gun rate mode. The rate is always high.

A-10:

- Maverick missiles can hit the targets only when the missile effectiveness is 50 or 100 %.

- VSI indicater on the HUD does not show its scale when the scale is "1". (This may not be a bug.)

F-15:

- HSI does not work in AA mode.

- IFF system does not work in STT mode.

- Post Launch Timer shows unknown numbers after the AR missile has gone active in TWS mode.

- HOJ lock can be detected by the target aircraft.

- True speed indicater in VSD shows IAS.

- AOA indicator shows its value not in units but in degrees.

- Backup airspeed scale shows wrong number.

AI AIRCRAFT:

- AI aircraft do not use external fuel.

- SEAD aircraft try to destroy non-radar vehicles in the assigned target group.

- AI aircraft try to attack detected enemy air defences first no matter what task or target they are assigned or weapon types they have. This happens even when the enemy air defences are very far away compared to the assigned target.

CRUISE MISSILE:

- Ship-based cruise missiles can not been launched when there is terrain obstacles between the target and the ship.

RWR:

- RWR does not detect friendly ground-based radars.

MISSION:

- When the mission date is 2 or later, the cockpit illumination is always lit at mission start even in daytime.

- When the mission task is SEAD and the target group includes non-radar vehicles, all target vehicles must be destroyed to get 100% achievement.

PILOT LOG BOOK:

- When the mission date is 2 or later, the "TakeOff" time in the mission log shows the number which is larger than 24:00.
