I'm new to the DCS sim and I just received the DCS Autumn Sale email. I saw that you can buy the F-15C module (standalone) versus buying it as part of the Flaming Cliffs 3 Module. Does the F-15C fly and operate the same in both cases? Do I get the same amount of tutorials, missions, etc if I just buy the F-15C Module versus buying it in FC3? I'm not too interested in the other aircraft found in FC3. Thanks.

It is the same ... however, the FC3 version has the advantage of being able to be used on Modded aircrafts, like this Eurofighter:

FC3 is the best deal:

A-10A

F-15C

MiG-29

Su-25

Su-27

Su-33

The simplified systems are annoying if you are used to clickable cockpits, but the flight models have been vastly improved to match other DCS modules. Despite having four air superiority aircraft which have similar flight envelopes, they all "feel" different in response to control movements. The Su-33 is the bonus: a carrier based aircraft for more interesting landings and takeoffs. A very long time ago, when DCS had crazy sales all the time, FC3 was selling for just $12. That was a steal for anyone who caught that price.

You won't get tutorial missions in standalone version because none of them is made specifically for the F-15C. Other than that missions, instant action missions and campaign are the same.

Since the tutorials are made for russian aircraft anyway you also have free tutorials for Su-25T that covers mostly the same as FC3 tutorials.

That's what DCS offers. Internets are full of other resources like this great guide:

https://www.mudspike.com/dcs-f-15c-combat-guide-for-beginners/

and dozens of videos.

Don't forget the manual that comes with the module. If in doubt ask on the forums.

I just bought and installed the F-15C standalone module (not the FC3 Module). Where can I find the F-15C manual that you mention please? Does the F-15C Module download any PDF's/Tutorial's/Guides as part of the module installation process?

Thanks.

I'm not sure where the "Stand alone" manual is saved but the F-15C manual can be be downloaded from here:

https://store.steampowered.com/manual/250300

The FC3 manual is in "DCS World\Mods\aircraft\Flaming Cliffs\Doc\F-15C DCS Flaming Cliffs Flight Manual EN.pdf"

I think you are expected to use the Su-27 tutorials in 2.5.x before flying the F-15C SP and Instant Action Missions or the Bear Trap Campaign.

AFAIK there no F-15C Training missions included as standard.

DCS 1.2.16 used to include the old FC2 missions for the F-15C, etc. but the legacy missions were depreciated and removed from DCS 1.5.6 and 2.5.x

The legacy FC2 missions are available here but most likely require editing due to changes in the FC3 flight models and the DCS 2.5.x map.

Thank you. After messing around with it I opened up more and there were cold start proceedures for all. Just on a learning trend now. yhanks again
