Flamin_Squirrel Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 As per title, I'm interested to know if AI aircraft will arrive/depart/marshal etc appropriately during the different Case states. I've not seen any info on this so it might not be public knowledge yet, but would be interesting to know.
RaiderOne Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 I hope they will !!! Otherwise, during non-MultiPlayer sessions, the module would be much less interesting than expected !?! :(
Mule Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 Good question. Would really add to the immersion in a stack etc. Fighter Pilot Podcast.
Fri13 Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 Hopefully this is not just for Super Carrier, but it is for everything! Meaning that ED should start to enforce a proper procedures for take-off and landing in the Simulation mode, and give a slack when in Game mode. It should be enforced in all airbases etc that the virtual pilots will fly properly, and get rating for the landing. Of course nothing will deny anyone landing wrong manner, but it would be negative for the mission and for the re-arming/refueling process. i7-8700k, 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 2x 2080S SLI 8GB, Oculus Rift S. i7-8700k, 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 1080Ti 11GB, 27" 4K, 65" HDR 4K.
Silver_Dragon Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 Wags tell about AI on the AMA interview. https://www.mudspike.com/mudspike-ama-with-eagle-dynamics-senior-producer-matt-wagner/ Can you talk about the new ATC/AI improvements in the works? We have seen a few carrier based comms in Wags’ videos but I’d like to know a bit more about the scope. For example declaring emergencies, talking to the tankers a bit more, having AI flights talk to the ATC as well etc. For now, the lead engineer responsible for this is focused on the aircraft carrier communications (departure, marshal, approach, tower, and LSO). This has been a very complex yet rewarding challenge for us. We are nearing the finishing line and one of his next tasks will be to lead the overhaul of the airfield radio communications. However, this is the same lead engineer responsible for aircraft AI, and there are important tasks on that front that also demand his attention. All the items in your list are certainly desirable however, we also need to balance the available resources with the highest priority tasks. Improved AI is a fundamental element of DCS World core enhancements and a top priority for ED. I often do test flights , to name one example , and bypass procedures to get to the meat of the problem or to practice challenging landing/nav tests . I don't need anyone enforcing "rules" in SP , where what i choose to do is no one else's business . I could understand the need for enforced procedures in MP , but surely the server administrators should make those decisions ? 9700k @ stock , Aorus Pro Z390 wifi , 32gb 3200 mhz CL16 , 1tb EVO 970 , MSI RX 6800XT Gaming X TRIO , Seasonic Prime 850w Gold , Coolermaster H500m , Noctua NH-D15S , CH Pro throttle and T50CM2/WarBrD base on Foxxmounts , CH pedals , Reverb G2v2

As one who fly mostly SP (I just don't have the time to commit to a squadron) but that loves flying procedures I agree enforcing them should be something you can opt for in the mission editor/settings. i7-3930K CPU @ 3.20GHz; 16Gb DDR3; GeForce GTX 1070; Windows 10; TM Warthog HOTAS
