Exactly, if we can just add an additional argument to this entry, we're done.

A few flyables have good strobe lights, such as the A-10C and the JF-17. The Mirage looks good too, although it doesn't light up as much.

We can't! Arguments must be defined in a 3D environment as a connection to animations/ .lua files.

That would mean .EDM files must be tempered with..and that is illegal afaik.

Again question comes to ED: Function is there guy, why not use it?

Ah OK, I misunderstood you before. Yeah, I was afraid of that, the EDMs are very much off limits, as far as I'm concerned.

Looks much better. Surprising the ED hasn't made this small change.

It does. Shame we can't find a way to have it for both strobes.

Unless someone from ED takes notice and helps just a bit. *wink wink*

Yes, it would be great, although even with one side working it looks better than the default. :thumbup:

It works for both strobes for the AI! And it looks amazing. This is the first time I'm jealous of an AI unit in DCS.

Last of the last..It's the best I could do. Some workarounds, some tweaks.Looks like that.

Preview Link:

https://streamable.com/5kmdt

If you like it, I attached both the modded FA-18C.lua (if you'll replace the .lua file take a backup or rename the original as.lua.bak) and a so called "mod" JSGME compatible.Also for those who know what they are doing:

			[1]	= {
			typename	=	"collection",
			lights 		= {
							{typename = "natostrobelight", argument = 193, period = 1.3, phase_shift = 0, color = {0.8,0,0}, intensity_max = 68, position  = {-5.32, 2.58, -1.81}},
						},
		},

Enjoy!

Anyone from ED want to chime in on how to get both tail strobes working?

It does look better and would be great if we could get both strobes working.

Bump. Since the Viper is getting an improved anti-collision strobe, can we hope for something similar for the Hornet, please?

Thanks for the update !

Just asking, does the .lua have new name?

2020 - FA-18C.lua

2023 - FA-18C_hornet.lua?

All relevant .lua is now called "FA-18C.lua" in the game now...

It appears to be that since this week's O.B update...for the F18, a new .lua file was added...hence, amendment in this new file: FA-18C_hornet.lua
