sirrah
When flying over water, I get some really messed up visuals in VR (see screenshots) The issue really shows, while flying over shallow waters, but is also present while flying over deep water (just slightly less distinctive) Anyone else seeing this when using the settings as stated below: Water settings: Medium Shadows: Low Terrain shadows: Off Version: OB 2.5.6 I did notice, that when I set water settings to high, everything is looking good (but my framerate drops too much) Turning off shadows didn't help (so maybe nog shadow related in contradiction to my topic title. Maybe reflection related?). Tested in Caucasus and PG PG: F-16 instant action free flight Caucasus: F-16 instant action ramp hot Effect orrurs both in left and right eye, but visibility highly depends on from which angle you look. RuskyV
Seen the same issue with the CV1 over the PG map, not noticed the massive plane shadow though. Flying the same plane but with medium settings and seeing the same issue.
sirrah
No one else having this issue? (except for me and Blade) If so, that'd be kinda disturbing. Because in that case, fixing this is probably not on ED's radar, or it's a problem with my DCS installation :( It would be kinda comforting to me, if I knew that more people were having this issue (I need to share my pain :P) As said before, this is only happening with water set to medium. When setting water to low or high, everything is working properly. I tried again today making sure all mods were deleted, cleanup/repair, delete fxo and metashaders2... but still no change. The effect is so massive, it's unplayable to fly over water (especially shallow waters) :helpsmilie: Edited March 1, 2020 by sirrah System specs: i7-8700K @stock speed - GTX 1080TI @ stock speed - AsRock Extreme4 Z370 - 32GB DDR4 @3GHz- 500GB SSD - 2TB nvme - 650W PSU HP Reverb G1 v2 - Saitek Pro pedals - TM Warthog HOTAS - TM F/A-18 Grip - TM Cougar HOTAS (NN-Dan mod) & (throttle standalone mod) - VIRPIL VPC Rotor TCS Plus with ALPHA-L grip - Pointctrl & aux banks <-- must have for VR users!! - Andre's SimShaker Jetpad - Fully adjustable DIY playseat - VA+VAICOM - Realsimulator FSSB-R3 ~ That nuke might not have been the best of ideas, Sir... the enemy is furious ~ GUMMBAH

sirrah
I get the same issue with the F-18, PG map, HP Reverb. sirrah
Medium water setting is still bugged in OB 2.5.6.44266 Don't understand that there are so little complaints about this, but maybe it's because most people are using the water high or water low setting. sirrah
Guys, please leave the cloud rendering issue for another topic. I know it's also annoying, but distant clouds flicker has always been an issue, at least as long as I play in VR (about 3 years). The water texture issue I described in my OP, is new since OB 2.5.6 System specs: i7-8700K @stock speed - GTX 1080TI @ stock speed - AsRock Extreme4 Z370 - 32GB DDR4 @3GHz- 500GB SSD - 2TB nvme - 650W PSU HP Reverb G1 v2 - Saitek Pro pedals - TM Warthog HOTAS - TM F/A-18 Grip - TM Cougar HOTAS (NN-Dan mod) & (throttle standalone mod) - VIRPIL VPC Rotor TCS Plus with ALPHA-L grip - Pointctrl & aux banks <-- must have for VR users!! - Andre's SimShaker Jetpad - Fully adjustable DIY playseat - VA+VAICOM - Realsimulator FSSB-R3 ~ That nuke might not have been the best of ideas, Sir... the enemy is furious ~ GUMMBAH
Chapa
IMO you should publish this bug report to the DCS 2.5 > Bug & Problems > Object Error section of the forum. This part of the forum is from my point of view not good to publish bugs related to VR because always submerged by performances issue or other kind of strange behavior, often cause by other things than DCS. Here is a good place to find answer and advices from the communauty but not as strong for serious bug report i7 12700k, RTX 3080ti, 64GB RAM, M.2 512Go, Quest
sirrah
Medium water setting is bugged Also posted this on the VR issues sub-forum, but it seems to not be picked up by anyone from ED, so I'll try here as well. Bug is already verified by a few other DCS users in my previous thread. Since OB 2.5.6, when flying over water, I get some really messed up visuals in VR (see these screenshots in my initial thread). The issue really shows, while flying over shallow waters, but is also present while flying over deeper water (just slightly less distinctive). This only happens with water settings: Medium Tested in Caucasus and PG Fastest way to test/reproduce in missions: PG: F-16 instant action free flight Caucasus: F-16 instant action ramp hot Effect orrurs both in left and right eye, but visibility of the bugged effect highly depends on from which angle you look.
