LuckyFromArma Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 DCS just installed F15-C and SU-27. I didn't ask for them, and I don't want them. This new install is messing up my keyboard short cuts, and making it difficult for me to record in DCS; how do I uninstall the modules and put DCS back to the way it was before they installed?
Mars Exulte Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 You people literally complain about everything. They shouldn't mess with your shortcuts or anything else, particularly if you're not using them. Go in the module manager and uninstall them. It's that simple. Also, RTFM. This is like asking ''where's the any key'' large button on the menu screen, one of only a handful. Not hard to find. This is like asking ''where's the any key'' large button on the menu screen, one of only a handful. Not hard to find. I didn't ask ED to install these, I don't want them, so I have a right to complain about it. I went into module manager and clicked the slider, but they're still installed, just disabled in the manager. They are interfering with my shortcuts. They're interfering with my ability to make videos as a result. I was in the middle of making a video when the notice popped up, that was 2 hours ago and still haven't been able to make the video, it was only going to be a 2 minute video, that was the plan, this is what happened. How do I permanently uninstall them so they're not on my system anymore? And how do I opt out of having future unwanted modules installed?
Lange_666 Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 They don't install themselves, you where offered to install them and you clicked yes right? If you didn't and came here first to see what it was about, you could have avoided the problem you have right now. But i guess, you are one of the 99% who click on everything without even knowing what to do. randomTOTEN Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 Click the trash can symbol next to the modules you don't want (just like any other module you own). I would HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY suggest you deactivate (let DCS restart) any module before you uninstall it.
VpR81 Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 Won´t these two modules getting uninstalled automatically after the "free-to-fly" weekend is over? Lange_666 Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 No, you'll get a message that the module is not activated. Uninstall you have to do yourself. Personally i find the separate modules from FC3 and the entire FC3 module a bit of a mess. If you have the FC3 module installed, you already have these modules, still they are offered as a separate download and you can buy them separate even if you have them already through the FC3 module. I bought the A-10A once accidentally although i had FC3 already. Needed to contact ED to get a refund. This still isn't solved. Tom Kazansky Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 Will there be more data on my SSD if I have FC3 after SU27 and F15 installed themselves while this weekend?

I clicked "Cancel" and went back to making my video, when it got laggy I noticed the modules were intalling any way, then I came here trying to find out how to get rid of them. I guess you assume way too much, and say things without thinking that maybe there actually is something buggy about the installer. You probably think that's my fault to.:chair:

Amazing how users with a low number of posts give the better advice than users with thousands of posts.

I noticed I have folders that contain all the aircraft(probably AI aircraft), and maps like Normandy, and Persian Gulf, but I only have a few aircraft and the Caucasus map installed. ED said they had another Free map the Marianas Islands, that's what I thought the notification was going to be when I saw it, but it seems that one's gone MIA.

Just to be certain: my FC3 Su27 and Eagle are not affected by uninstalling the free weekend modules by trashcan, right?

If you didn't and came here first to see what it was about, you could have avoided the problem you have right now. I clicked "No" when offered to install the Su-33 after buying the Supercarrier Early Access.. and just discovered the Su-33 files exist on my computer. This functionality might not be working correct after a major core update. Will there be more data on my SSD if I have FC3 after SU27 and F15 installed themselves while this weekend? From what I've seen (I have FC3 too).. yes. Just to be certain: my FC3 Su27 and Eagle are not affected by uninstalling the free weekend modules by trashcan, right? They shouldn't. When they installed themselves last night, the modules wouldn't even show on my home page because I already own FC3. So apparently there's some kind of check for redundancy going on here.
Tom Kazansky Posted March 7, 2020 Posted March 7, 2020 Thanks rT. I asked cause l have a SU-33 left in my module manager after a free trial period while I owned FC3 already. Just disabled it after I got annoying messages after that trial period but never uninstalled it.

Mars Exulte Posted March 8, 2020 Posted March 8, 2020 What do you mean by. . "you people"? Btw, having fired it up for the first time, yes it asks you before it installs them, and yes you can uncheck them and NOT install them. So, yeah, OP opted to install them and then complained about installing them. 1st world problems, man. Де вороги, знайдуться козаки їх перемогти. 5800x3d * 3090 * 64gb * Reverb G2
