Decksliding / Sync issues / Rubberbanding fixed for release?

We are still doing major testing on everything, but I haven't seen any issues in single player so far.

I really hope that major testing includes MP with a good amount of players.

I'd be just as happy with the open beta release only supporting single player for super carrier to start. In fact that might even be preferable to get bearings etc and then when it drops for MP, so m uch the better all the learning curves are done. Is that possible?
No...

I would imagine that at least 2 or 3 experienced virtual squadrons are involved in testing.

I said that because the "no clear answer", neither here or on reddit, worries me very much.

Just saw the Supercarrier quick mission video posted on YouTube. Any chance we can get something similar for the Tomcat, starting off with a parked jet?

Heatblur would probably have to do that.

I didn't notice any sliding in all the preview videos, so I assume yes.

Never assume when it comes to the fixing of deck sliding. It's bad for your health. So far I've not seen any video showing the boat turning, rough sea states and or rearm/refuel. Until we have done our own testing there's no proof of it being 'fixed'.

Hopefully its fixed, though I did notice the preview vid of the guy who used the elevator, as soon as he taxied onto it, his plane started jigging around a lot. Though its possible that area was still WIP.

I'm speculating but I think one of the ways they have alleviated this issue for the super carrier is by disabling the ship reacting to the movement of the water. The carrier is solid in the water like an island, with no deck pitching. I hope I am wrong on this and if I am not wrong I hope that it gets fixed very soon.

It was removed a while back as we started work on the issue, it has now been put back in, internally, and should be available with the release version, or shortly after. We wanted to ease it in as we wanted to make sure our coding for improved carrier physics could handle it, and so far so good, the only thing I saw was I almost rolled off the deck under heavy listing because I needed to put my foot on the brakes... but that's what I would expect if all of a sudden my hornet was sitting on a hill :)

Sounds promising! Looking forward to getting it!

NineLine, could you give us an update of the status of the decksliding / rubberbanding / desync issues with the Supercarrier release?

Probably also about the issue that not all players in MP can see the same static objects?

This is an actual problem? How is that even possible? Does that apply to any static objects, anywhere?!

Welp yesterday I was flying on the FPP server and for whatever reason the carrier started n aggressive port turn and we all ended up overboard

Sorry that doesnt make sense to me, are you sure it was not a Starboard turn. Number 4 cat is on the portside of the vessel, and if a vigorous turn to port of the vessel is engaged, I would have thought impetus calculations would have thrown the aircraft towards the starboard side.:huh:

It is, yes:

Also you can see the desync on the swept wings of the Tomcat.

Oh... interesting. I haven't tried placing statics on the carrier yet.

I've seen the desync issue in the Tomcat. Both times I was host/RIO. Doesn't happen as host/pilot. Client/pilot sees folded wings.
