Turning off health bars in map view make my FPS go right back up. Something is taking a lot of resources to render those health bars.

 

Yes, unit labels as well when there are a lot of units.

Just tried the health bars 'off' idea... it had no apparent effect for me in game.

i7 8700K @ Stock - Win11 64 - 64gb RAM - RTX 3080 12gb OC

On the start of mission i have 8 fps...I have RTX 2060super, i7 2700k, 32 gb ram, ssd disk...And that is when i use LOW graphic option

I am on lates OP 2.5.6 patch

Yeah, I did some more testing with other missions (with moving ground units) and the FPS drops are still pretty bad after yesterday's (4-22) patch. I'm getting sudden drops from about 40 fps to about 16 fps (and then sticking at 16 for 5 or 10 seconds) when vehicles start moving... which is pretty jarring. So, on my end, yesterday's patch gave me about a 10 fps improvement over how it was in the previous 2.5.6 with moving ground units.

same for me: Baltic Dragon Enemy Within 3.0 last mission as soon as the camp capture starts - ground units and infantry moving here as well. Drop from 60 FPS to 16 -19 FPS.

Curious: Are you guys making sure that you are in full screen mode when you test the health bar on/off performance? Again, when i use the "LargeTest1" mission with ground unit movement, alt+entered to fullscreen mode, the health bars on or off don't seem to have any marked effect on my PC. Just curious.

Yes, it's our dev branch, now it will be merged to an Open Beta Release candidate and I will test again in there. Thanks.

 

Everything has a revision number, you can even see this in your own DCS.log files I believe.

 

 

Whch settings do you use to achieve 120fps in this mission?

Hello,

 

Perhaps it could be interesting to test this mission with a dedicated server on the same machine ?

A way to benefit of multi core machine we have ?

 

And a true multiplayer test over internet too.
