Little kid in candy store of DCS Modules

I've spent entire day testing all modules (planes and choppers) with a goal to buy something for myself with a budget of $100-$120 max, I was like a kid in a candy store, for a long time flight simmer there is no BAD aircraft/chopper there are only those I prefer more over others. First of all I would like to thank Eagle Dynamics for this awesome new approach to old and new customers alike.

In the past, I was always in a difficult position to buy a module because YouTube wasn't enough, you have to feel it with your own joystick before making a decision.

I haven't rushed my decision, I have confirmed 3 buys with 4th being in the air which is why I am creating a thread to ask a community to help me decide.

Out of all modules I tested considering that I already have:

(Combined Arms, Mig-15, Mig-21, A10C, FC3, F/A-18C, F-16C Viper, Persian Gulf & Nevada NTTR Map)

I have decided to buy:

1. DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight by Belsimtek (25$)

Reason: Since I was a child I had a field 100 meters away from my home, and a nice green Mi-8 Transport Chopper used to land every now and then, as a 9 yr kid that was something amazing to see and experience, so this buy is basically my first chopper buy and complexity is something I love a lot, it looks complex, tons of switches, beautiful.

2. DCS: C-101 Aviojet by AvioDev (30$)

Reason: Sometimes I just want to enjoy flying around and this tiny jet won me over L-39. I don't think that L-39 is a bad module by any mean, it's just I prefer this one to be with western avionics since I am quite tired of Russians one by playing Mig-15 and Mig-21 a lot. Also it seems it has more weapons to choose from and flight model and behavior is excellent. I've heard that this module had problems in the past, but from what I have seen today it's quite nice.

3. DCS: F-5E Tiger II by Belsimtek (30$)

Reason: I love my Mig-21. This module is basically a western counterpart to Mig-21 and it has a drag chute. I love drag chutes, I love fast landings, also just like Mig-21 it has a personality, so for Mig-21 fans this is an awesome western pick so it's done.

Help me pick 4th among those from Considering list, I am interested in quality of module and why would it be a good pick for my already established collection: (listed by no particular order)

1. DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfurst

2. DCS: Fw 190 D-9 Dora

3. Ka 50

4. P-51D

5. SA342

6. Spitfire

Do I need WW2 figher and why? or should I expand on Choppers? Help me pick one more among these 6

Why I didn't considered others:

NOTE: This are not bad modules, they just didn't fit into budget or I have similar module already:

Mig-19 (skipped, already have 15 and 21 and I played them a lot, so a 21 and 15 hybrid is no go for me, module is great, so for someone who wants a better version of mig-15 great pick)

F-86F Sabre (awesome module, it made no sense to me to get it since I own Mig-15 and I need more diverse spectrum of modules, played with it, sad I can not keep it, maybe later)

FW190 A-8 (Did not get into consideration list, nothing wrong with module, I don't like the cockpit, personal preferences)

I-16 (I don't see this plane comparable with other WW2 planes, it's old late WW1 plane I think, can't use it anywhere I am afraid, but maybe I am wrong, correct me if I am)

JF-17 (I've never heard for this fighter plane, looks interesting, expensive for me)

M2000 (didn't like it, cockpit looks too simple for my taste)

Huey (Not fan of Huey, I know it's american favorite, maybe one day who knows)

F14B (expensive, not fan of the jet, later most likely)

Yak 52 (I have no problems with civilian aviation coming from FS and XPLANE series, but this one is too simple for my taste and experience, I suggest it to new players who are still learning basics of flying, and it's cheap)

Out of this list, I like the Ka-50 .. It is a very different chopper than the Mi-8, easier to control (at least for me) and so much fun to use on the battlefield, hiding behind terrain.

I would recommend the Spitfire, since you already picked one helicopter. In my own experience, it is fun to switch to WWII now and then, when you get frustrated of modern jets :)

But you might need to buy also Normandy and WWII assets eventually if you do like the spit.

Totally off-topic since you seem to have made your mind but, have you tried the Harrier? It's quite unique and fun

Of the ones you consider, I have them all and the Ka-50 is the best to my taste. If you fly in VR you will enjoy the HMD targeting system. The learning curve is quite steep, if this is what you like too.

I dunno how you choose lol. If you enjoy helicopters, then you need the Ka-50 eventually. It's one of ED's best modules. Flying it is very different from other helos but it's also very interesting.

I would avoid the SA342 gaz altogether. I picked it up in the helicopter pack but it just feels terrible, long standing debate about it's flight model aside. I just don't like it.

The rest are WW2 planes. I first bought the K4 out of the group as I love the 109, but I'm going to end up having to buy the normandy map and the asset pack to get any real enjoyment out of it. But of the group I think I'd recommend the P-51, which I'm about to get. The reason being is the P-51 can double as a ground attack bird, so if you get the asset pack and the normandy map you can get some ground attack enjoyment out of the ww2 stuff. There's almost zero single player ww2 air to air enjoyment to be had until they improve the AI flight model. The AI defies physics that the player is bound to, so they just do infinite vertical loops that you can never keep up with.

The short of it is, if you're willing to buy the asset pack and the normandy map, then get the P-51. If not, get the Ka-50.

Just a quick comment: The I-16 is not a WWI airplane: It's a 1930s-40s bird and was widely used by the Russians in the opening years of WWII. It is also very different from all the other modules and very much fun to fly. You will be surprised how well it holds its own against the other WWII mods. It's slower than most, but if the other guy tries to turn with you, he's in for a nasty surprise. And, at close range, the firepower of the I-16 is stupendous. If you like a challenge and enjoy WWII dogfights, the I-16 is definitely worth considering.

Cheers!

This! I bought it on sale not expecting much but have had a lot of fun with it. First off it is a difficult plane to learn because it is just terribly unstable on takeoffs and landings. Thus a real sense of accomplishment once you figure that out. Once in the air it is a joy to fly and very agile, if not fast. It comes with one of the very best ground attack instant action missions. It has the most complicated landing gear of any plane, but there are shortcuts programmed so you don't have to memorize the complicated sequences. It's a good plane for aerobatics (but does not like negative g's or sustained inverted flight).
