What are the differences? With e model can we control it from the cockpit after launch and can we see where it is going like walleye?

The E is a land attack missile, while the D is an anti-ship missile. And yes, AFAIK the SLAM (AGM-84E) does provide a video feed that can be recieved by the DL pod that is used for the Walleye as well.

The D uses optical guidance within the missile. Basically it’s fire and forget, which is a good thing in a busy environment.

The E is laser guided by your own aircraft; a buddy or forward air controller. Has better range and is more appropriate for precision strikes. What you can’t really do with the E is fire a volley at different targets, then run for it.

Uhm, I think you're confusing the AGM-84 with the AGM-65 ;)

Is there a picture about how the control screen looks like?

Does anyone have exact differences between the SLAM and SLAM-ER?

All I know is SLAM-ER has +150nm range versus the 80nm odd for the E version.

I’m assuming there are man-in-the-loop differences as well. Maybe terminal guidance improvements. Like, a stabilised seeker and easier retargeting for the SLAM-ER. Maybe a reattack option?

I’m assuming both feature an autopilot that allows level cruise flight to a GPS seeker initialisation point.

The AGM-84D Harpoon is the radar guided anti-ship missile we already have a partially functioning example of in the game.

The AGM-84E SLAM is basically a Harpoon missile with the warhead from a Tomahawk and the TV guidance unit from a Walleye, plus a GPS/INS guidance system. Externally it's identical to the AGM-84D Harpoon except for the seeker head.

The AGM-84H and AGM-84K SLAM-ER are evolved versions of the AGM-84E. The longer range comes in part from a much larger fold-out wing system and longer body with more fuel, which makes the the SLAM-ER look a lot different than the SLAM and Harpoon. It's got an updated FLIR seeker head, which allows autonomous acquisition and tracking of both fixed and moving targets without human command guidance, and an updated navigation system.

The SLAM is actually about 2 feet longer than the anti-ship Harpoon, and anecdotally has a stupid nose high attitude during cruise.

Now I have to imagine a panel of Navy officers sitting together and agreeing that the official term of the flight behaviour is stupid.
