USAF-Falcon87 Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 She seems almost smug as she says, "Missile. Missile." As in, "now what are you gonna do, genius?"

That's not just me then! :D Even the way she says "Danger! Danger!" is not conducive to pulling the handle. However , according to Navy, the LSO needs to be stern male voice for maximum compliance.

paco2002 Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 Not gonna lie, I love the JF-17 voice, is different, and the first time you listen to it is like "No more PULL-UP, PULL-UP" *To all the ones that doesn't like the default voice, you can use the EN2, it has some filtrers in it to sound like inside the cockpit, and if you don't like that one, you also can make your own one.

Worrazen Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 (edited) I actually liked it and had no thoughts of any creppy or girlfriends for the novelty of it and diversity of modules ... but it does kinda sound like one of those japanese cartoons ... I have little experience with any of that anime stuff so my opinion's worthless really. I was selecting between the voices and I found a favourite one but forgot which one. I never disliked any of this because I'm a big fan of warnings and buttons and emergency goodness. I just like the thrill of a sudden WARNING that as a non-pilot I didn't expect and then I go "oooh hold on to your butts, ... btw that's nicely simulated ... challenge accepted" If I have comments I probably would find more techinical ones, perhaps clarity of the audio and mix/volume etc where you guys talk about creepyness might actually fall into the technical aspect in a scenario, but the JF-17 trial is over now and I'm planning to buy it a bit later. Tiger-II Posted May 14, 2020 Posted May 14, 2020 (edited) Most disturbingly, a child's voice actually resulted in greatest reaction to what was said, but was considered too ... questionable ... to use. Bitchin' Betty was chosen for her neutrality. It is no coincidence that her voice is as neutral/flat as it can be (it was modified to be so). It's female because most pilots are male, though I think they found a female voice causes a similar reaction in female pilots as well.
