I'm still in the learning process of this aircraft, and there's one thing that's bugging me. Let's say I have a couple of GBU-12's on station 4 and 8.

If I go to the DSMS page, and don't select any weapon, then click on "PROF", then move the cursor to the GBU-12, and then change it from CCIP to CCRP and set Auto Laser to ON for example.

If I now go back to the main screen of the DSMS, select ALL of the GBU-12's on the page, and then click on "PROF", I'll go directly to the profile page for the bombs without having to select it once more. That makes all sense to me. But then, every setting I did in the first place are completely gone, and I must do it once more.

So when I select a weapon in HUD mode with DMS left/right, how am I suppose to know which PROF settings are used for the GBU-12? The one I did first (without pre selecting the bombs), or the setting I did the second time (where the GBU-12's was pre selected)?

I'm on 2.5.6 Open Beta, so I suspect this to be some kind of bug, or?

Did you press "SAVE" OSB blinking on screen top center?

Yes, of course.

Feature

There are two profiles for DSMS. The first one you set is for the weapon profile.

Weapon profile is accessed with HUD as SOI and DMS left and right short to cycle through the DSMS weapon load profiles.

The other one that you did not set is the weapon manual select. Selecting them manually is separate profile.

To know if your bomb have the right profile in the center of the DSMS it will list the selection, release mode, and other weapon specific options saved.

General advice is not to use manual selection, for the exact reason you observed. If you are at the level where you care about profile properties, use profiles exclusively.

This! Always use profiles, not manual pylon selection!

If you select the weapons through manual pylon selection, it will deploy them with the default settings, not with your profile settings. That's not a bug, but a feature, because the DSMS has no way telling what profile you want to use that way, as it is possible to have multiple profiles for a single weapon.

You can either activate a certain profile through the DSMS profile subpage or by cycling through them by pressing DMS left/right when HUD is SOI and not in NAV mode.

The HUD will display the name of your currently selected weapon profile in the lower left corner, so if you give your weapon profiles meaningful names it will show them there.

As mentioned above, it is possible to create multiple profiles with different settings for a single weapon type, so you can quickly switch between various preset settings for a weapon, depending on how you want to deploy them.

Not in GUNS mode. ;)

In GUNS mode DMS left/right cycles gun pippers. It's perfectly possible to select weapon profiles from NAV mode, though. CCIP or CCRP will be set automatically according to the selected profile.

Otherwise agree 100%
