Northstar98 Posted May 11, 2020 Posted May 11, 2020 Can the already present fuel and ammo depots at airfields in the Caucasus, be destroy-able ? This way interesting resource denial can be done You can blow them up in game, I've done it lots of times, and the ammo depots make lots of secondary explosions that go on seemingly endlessly. Not sure if it actually takes out refuelling and rearming capability for aircraft though. Shadow KT Posted May 11, 2020 Author Posted May 11, 2020 I know they make a pretty visual, but they don't actually have any effect. The containers, don't even get destroyed, there are just secondaries, which come from no where. 'Shadow' Everybody gotta be offended and take it personally now-a-days
=4c=Nikola Posted May 11, 2020 Posted May 11, 2020 When you destroy fuel tank, percentage of fuel available on that airport decreases. It's probably same for ammo storage. Do not expect fairness. The times of chivalry and fair competition are long gone.
Shadow KT Posted May 12, 2020 Author Posted May 12, 2020 (edited) I did a test and nothing changed. I will try it again. The thing is.... you cannot even destroy the containers which are marked on the map (at least the ammo ones), so you can't know what you've destroyed. Shadow KT Posted May 12, 2020 Author Posted May 12, 2020 Wait, how did you see that the fuel decreased ? 'Shadow' Everybody gotta be offended and take it personally now-a-days
Kang Posted May 12, 2020 Posted May 12, 2020 Without having tried it at all: It might simply do nothing if your airfields are set to unlimited supplies to begin with.
Greyman Posted May 12, 2020 Posted May 12, 2020 The ability to deny your enemy access to resources might become a thing for the purposes of the currently WIP dynamic campaign, but to prevent it being an overpowered tactic, the storage units would either have to be really well defended and/or there would need to be lots of them.
=4c=Nikola Posted May 12, 2020 Posted May 12, 2020 Yea, it seems it doesn't work for ammo storage. I do not understand why is that; they can just reuse existing code they use for fuel. Do not expect fairness. The times of chivalry and fair competition are long gone.
Shadow KT Posted May 13, 2020 Author Posted May 13, 2020 Yea, it seems it doesn't work for ammo storage. I do not understand why is that; they can just reuse existing code they use for fuel. But how did you figure out it works for fuel ? 'Shadow' Everybody gotta be offended and take it personally now-a-days
Dunx Posted May 13, 2020 Posted May 13, 2020 Combined Arms? When you click an airport on the F10 map I get the option to see resources (fuel/ammo). I'm not sure if that is due to me having Combined Arms or not, I've never NOT had the module installed. Sierra99 Posted May 13, 2020 Posted May 13, 2020 Page 216 in the manual " Resource Manager The Resource Manager (RM) is Mission Editor a system that allows you to set a determined quantity of aircraft, fuel and equipment at each airbase warehouse and independent warehouse. Each warehouse (airbase or independent) can resupply other warehouses with defined speed, periodicity and size. The RM is a very useful tool for single player and multiplayer missions in which the mission designer can limit the available aircraft, fuel and weapons to the player(s). Thereby adding a level of strategic thinking of how to best use limited resources. =4c=Nikola Posted May 13, 2020 Posted May 13, 2020 But how did you figure out it works for fuel ? I've dropped gbu-12 at each individual tank at airport and after each tank destroyed I've checked airport resources in F10. Liquids levels decreased proportionally and after all tanks were destroyed, I've tried to refuel and failed. Do not expect fairness. The times of chivalry and fair competition are long gone.
Shadow KT Posted May 13, 2020 Author Posted May 13, 2020 Ah, I have not noticed the resource button until now on the F10 map. Nice, glad there is a way to check this more conveniently while in-game So, the verdict is that works for fuel, but not for ammo ? Joni Posted December 19, 2020 Posted December 19, 2020 Has this been reported? I tried it today and ammo is still not affected by destroyed depots.
